A must-read from Planet Critical by Rachel Donald. She brilliantly explains the depth and reasons for our dilemma as oil runs out and climate change accelerates. https://geoffreydeihl.substack.com/cp/149284522

The Greenland ice sheet is destined to melt completely. Not in our lifetimes or even by 2100. No worries, what it will accomplish by then can still wreck the world. https://geoffreydeihl.substack.com/p/the-greenland-ice-sheet-is-gone

The implications of Hurricane Helene go far beyond the devastation of the storm, just as do the fires in Portugal and the floods in Central Europe. So many crises, impossible to encapsulate. The US November election is a critical point if there is to be any hope left at all. https://geoffreydeihl.substack.com/p/when-is-the-point-of-no-return

@joriki Unless Harris is elected, both chambers go Democrat, and she expands the Supreme Court, no chance. Even then, the progressive Democrats have pushed the Green New Deal, a completely inadequate pipe dream.

I have taken the liberty of renaming Hurricane Milton, Hurricane DeSantis. It's time to get in these people's faces before it's too late. They are killing us. https://geoffreydeihl.substack.com/p/hurricane-desantis

Here's an article about planetary boundaries. If you have ever felt confused about the pretty graphic (I was), I have researched each area to better understand what it means. I'm sorry to say, our window for any kind of decent future is closing quickly. https://geoffreydeihl.substack.com/p/the-planet-has-limits-so-must-we

Let the madness begin. The world will be paying for this election. Humanity just makes the same mistakes over and over. This time there may be no recovery. https://geoffreydeihl.substack.com/p/descent-into-madness

Make no mistake, this administration will result in hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of excess deaths over the course of the next four years (and don’t count on Trump or Vance leaving office should Trump die) at the end of the term. https://geoffreydeihl.substack.com/p/fear-and-loathing-in-the-usa

@number6 @KeithDJohnson I agree. I had the good fortune of an excellent PBS station for decades, largely because they provided massive amounts of independent content from incredible fund drives. PBS on its own, however, is largely useless in presenting the truth.

@MxVerda @KeithDJohnson A.R.Moxon's work is excellent. I read him frequently, too.

@KeithDJohnson Yes, I like Moxon's work very much.

Hello everyone, my father passed on November 29, and now my mother is having surgery for a broken hip. Needless to say, this has impacted my writing time, but I'm not giving up. The latest, 2025 is here bringing even more concerns. https://geoffreydeihl.substack.com/p/fear-of-the-new-year

These are the toughest of times, with Trump to be installed on Monday. Hope in the political system is dead. We must accept saving anything is on our shoulders. While many actions must be taken, where our money goes is huge and doesn't entail personal risk. Stop feeding the cancer. https://geoffreydeihl.substack.com/p/death-by-consumption
