The Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) has published a statement specifying three significant challenges arising from #ArtificialIntelligence. @coar_repositories cite 1) lack of attribution, 2) #misinformation, and 3) aggresive #bots, as emerging problems to be navigated. In Glasgow city centre on Friday 20 March? Fancy listening to some fine jazz performances?! Then you might like to attend a performance of the Strathclyde University Big Band. Free entry! The Big Band comprises staff, students, alumni, and ex-staff of the University of Strathclyde (of which I am one!). The set list looks like it will feature standards by #Basie, #Cannonball #Adderley, and more. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/an-evening-of-jazz-with-strathclyde-university-big-band-tickets-1984...

After completing questions designed to 'right size' my subscription from LinkedIn for their 'Premium' offering, I am quoted £94.99.... per month! So, that's circa £1200 per annum... for LinkedIn?! Er, no thanks! Perhaps more worrying are the words, "Your subscription *begins* at £94.99 per month...", inferring that additional fees are likely to be added. #LinkedIn #SocialMedia

President Trump continues to repeat two factually inaccurate assertions about #NATO and #USA action in #Iran. At least this NY Times article sets it out clearly; but it warrants restating here because #Trump continues to parrot the same line. 1) NATO is a *defensive alliance only*. It is not used to mop up the military actions of individual members states. 2) Article 5 has only ever been invoked once in NATO's history -- and it was for the USA (09/11)! https://www.nytimes.com/2026/0...

RE: https://code4lib.social/@g3om4c/116246525139810681 So when Trump says, "NATO would never be there for us", it is deeply, deeply offensive to #NATO members and demonstrates abysmal ignorance of recent #USA history. NATO member states incurred massive military and human costs arising from the USA's invocation of Article 5. #Iran

The UK's political upheaval over the past decade has exposed persistent government contradictions when it comes to key industries. The #creative #industries are a case in point (as is higher #education, funnily enough); an #industry that is one of the most important to the UK #economy, but one that has been stymied through trade policy, #educational priorities, and much more. 👇 We need a creative higher education strategy https://wonkhe.com/blogs/we-need-a-creative-higher-education-str...
