If your idea of a great trip involves hunting down some bizarre concrete structures from the Cold War, I think you need to head straight to #Berlin Adlershof. There, you will find a sleek innovation district that once served as the beating heart of East German scientific research; tucked away between some buildings lies one of Europe’s most intriguing architectural oddities: the Isothermal Spherical Laboratories. https://ftrc.blog/isothermal-spherical-laboratories-in-berlin/ #brutalism

Early this week, I took my drone to the edge of #Berlin since I wanted to fly above some sunflowers. I love going to this part of the city where the Berlin Wall used to stand and just exploring how the area changed through the years.

After I got back from Bologna in February, I still had some film on my Canon camera. To finish it and develop every film roll from this trip at the same time, I went out for a walk around #Kreuzberg. On the #pixelfed link below, you can see one of my favorite buildings in the area, a punk statue, someone playing saxophone, and a massive graffiti next to the train tracks. https://pixelfed.social/p/ftrc.blog/990497225298558300 #BelieveInFilm #FilmIsNotDead #FilmPhotography #AnalogPhotograph...

I first passed by the Terrasstrapporna in Helsingborg when I first reached Sweden by bike on my way to Oslo. At the time, I didn't want to carry my bike up those stairs, so I just took a picture and rode away. A few months ago, I was back in Helsingborg for a couple of hours, and this time I could go up Terrasstrapporna and see the Kärnan tower. https://pixelfed.social/p/ftrc.blog/987615678458432578 #BelieveInFilm #FilmIsNotDead #FilmPhotography #AnalogPhotography #FTRCgoestoSweden

If you love street photography, #Berlin history, and stories of long-lost treasures, I have a remarkable exhibition for you. From June 5 to September 27, 2026, the Willy-Brandt-Haus is presenting a wonderful look into the past with “A Berlin Suitcase” (Ein Berliner Koffer), a showcase dedicated entirely to the brilliant pre-war work of photographer Fide Struck. https://ftrc.blog/inside-a-berlin-suitcase-fide-struck/

RE: https://mathstodon.xyz/@ColinTheMathmo/116883416907365566 I still have a cardboard box I got back in 2021 since it is an excellent one. It had Finnish beer inside, and this makes everything even better.

During Easter 2026, I decided to put a bad idea into practice, and I cycled from Berlin to the German border with Poland. My goal was simple: I wanted to buy some Polish sausages for the first barbecue of the season. So there I went with my bike, and 100 km later, I got my sausages. https://pixelfed.social/p/ftrc.blog/980130613285505767 #BelieveInFilm #FilmIsNotDead #FilmPhotography #AnalogPhotography

When I first visited the #Bauhaus school in Dessau, one thing was missing: the Bauhaus sign that appears in most school images. That part of the building was covered with a tarp, and a replacement sign was in place. For years, I wondered when the original sign would be back in place, and I had an answer to that question in the summer of 2024. https://ftrc.blog/a-bauhaus-pilgrimage-by-bike/

During my last trip to London, I tried to go to places that I had never gone to before. One of these places was Greenwich since I wanted to be able to cross the meridian. But the most interesting thing to me was that I took a ferry there from the London Bridge City Pier, and it was pretty cool to be able to see the city from an entirely different angle. https://pixelfed.social/p/ftrc.blog/981181786590931803 #BelieveInFilm #FilmIsNotDead #FilmPhotography #AnalogPhotography #FTRCGoestoLond...

I wasn't planning on buying a #Mamiya RZ67 at the end of 2024… But when someone I know offered me one at a good price, it was hard to say no. I'm telling this story here because I believe this is the first picture I ever took with that camera. I went to a parking lot not far from where I live and tried to figure out how to shoot with this massive medium-format beast of a camera. https://pixelfed.social/p/ftrc.blog/965901464195927612 #BelieveInFilm #FilmIsNotDead #FilmPhoto...

I don't know why, but I packed my camera and some cheap black-and-white film and left the house. These pictures were taken in the middle of summer 2024 in #Berlin. https://pixelfed.social/p/ftrc.blog/966259260464774104 #BelieveInFilm #FilmIsNotDead #FilmPhotography #AnalogPhotography

The compact trains looked like something out of an amusement park, and if that sounded interesting to you, you will love to learn that you can ride those trains today. This was the reason I went to the Postal Museum in #London back in April 2026. https://ftrc.blog/mail-rail-postal-museum/ #travel

On the west side of an island called Vágar is where you are going to find Gasadalur, one of the most beautiful places we ever saw in our lives. This village in the #FaroeIslands is known for a waterfall that we decided to describe as nature wallpaper based on how amazing it looks. https://ftrc.blog/nature-wallpaper-gasadalur-faroe-island/

I think it was around October 2025 when I got the Lubitel-166 Olympics from my girlfriend and went on a walk around the forests in Hennigsdorf. This was the first time I ever used this camera, and based on the images here, you can see that mistakes were made. https://pixelfed.social/p/ftrc.blog/947430754965014606 #BelieveInFilm #FilmIsNotDead #FilmPhotography #AnalogPhotography

Imagine a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of Rome and step back in time. A place where ancient ruins stand tall against a backdrop of rolling hills and lush greenery. This is Parco degli Acquedotti, a hidden gem in the heart of Rome. https://ftrc.blog/parco-degli-acquedotti-in-rome/

The Hererostein is a war memorial to the soldiers in the Protection Force for German South West Africa that died committing genocide against the Herero and Nama people in what is now known as Namibia. This is the only memorial commemorating the former German occupation of Namibia in #Berlin. https://pixelfed.social/p/ftrc.blog/944616490272991874 #BelieveInFilm #FilmIsNotDead #FilmPhotography #AnalogPhotography

Most people that come to Berlin for a few days end up exploring the same places, like the #Berlin Wall. The most profound experiences in the city, however, can be found in its most serene areas. Hidden away in Treptow, you will find the Krematorium Baumschulenweg that stands as a radical departure from traditional funeral architecture. https://ftrc.blog/krematorium-baumschulenweg/ #travel #brutalism

A couple of months ago I was browsing eBay, looking for some weird expired film, when I found something I had never seen before. It was a 60-meter-long roll of film made to capture analog audio in film recordings. Would that work for pictures? Would that work at all? I don't know, but €28 later it arrived home, and I didn't know what to do with it. #BelieveInFilm #FilmIsNotDead #FilmPhotography #AnalogPhotography

The Britzer Muhle is one of the eight remaining windmills in #Berlin, and it is the only surviving windmill that used to exist in #Neukolln. Also, it’s the only remaining fully functional windmill in Berlin, and you need to visit this place for many reasons. I accidentally discovered the place when taking my bike for a long ride to Brandenburg. Once at Buckower Damm, I saw this weird-shaped thing in the corner of my eye, and I had to stop my bike. https://ftrc.blog/britzer-muhle/ #travel

My friends and I went to a pumpkin festival in Busendorf at the beginning of November 2026. And, of course, I had to bring my camera with me. Too bad I only took a black and white roll of film to the event, and I missed all the pumpkin colors. It happens. At least you can get a little idea of what the festival was about. https://pixelfed.social/p/ftrc.blog/945254329784516288 #BelieveInFilm #FilmIsNotDead #FilmPhotography #AnalogPhotography

These are some simple pictures from frozen days around Rathaus Neukölln. Back in early January 2026. I think these are from a morning when I went to a supermarket for my weekly grocery shopping, but I might be wrong.
