Security Policy of @octoprint@floss.social overhauled with expected report contents, clearer response & mitigation timeline and some more clarification on expected AI disclosure. Also: Announcement of participation in Summer of Bliss. https://octoprint.org/security/ cc @bagder@mastodon.social

Five security reports within 20 minutes, from the same user, all scored as high as possible (and of course wrongly), broken formatting copy-pasted from an LLM, security policy and thread model completely ignored, and the two comments I so far got on closing two of these also sound like they fell straight out of a slopbot. In other news, *definitely* going to go with a summer of bliss approach as well (as invented by @bagder@mastodon.social). And will overhaul the security policy a bit.

Needed a short fun break and just added a little something to OctoPrint's README, powered by shields.io. Long URL as I did embed an SVG from Material Icons for the logo, but if you want it too: https://img.shields.io/badge/made_by-humans-blue?logo=data:image/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciIGhlaWdodD0iMjRweCIgdmlld0JveD0iMCAtOTYwIDk2MCA5NjAiIHdpZHRoPSIyNHB4IiBmaWxsPSIjZTNlM2UzIj48cGF0aCBkPSJNNDExLTQ4MHEtMjggMC00Ni0yMXQtMTMtNDlsMTItNzJxOC00MyA0MC41LTcwL...

Got a clue box for my birthday last month from my cousin, and just solved it in 1h+ together with my partner. *Really* fun, not the last one of these we'll play for sure! And this one can be played through again too!

Tiny stamps are tiny! 🥰 Had a lot of stress the past few weeks, and decided to treat myself to some stamps to use in my bullet journal here and there 😊 Found these lovely tiny ones built from meeples here: https://www.designmanufakturberlin.de/en/cat/index/sCategory/119

https://github.com/OctoPrint/OctoPrint-Wrapped 👀 I spent the day (and an hour or so yesterday) working on a little something for the season... soon available on the #OctoPrint plugin repo 😉 Example picture shared by a helping hand on Discord 🥰 I need to do small fun projects like this more often, that was a blast to implement! *edit* Official hashtag for sharing yours is #OctoPrintWrapped (and please share!)

With more and more studies showing regular (gen)AI use to have a negative impact on cognitive skills, and me now knowing that my genes carry a higher dementia risk (I'm currently supporting my mom through her diagnosis), I can tell you that this is yet another reason (on top of *plenty* others) for me to stay THE FUCK away from most of these tools and only use them in very rare and limited cases. See also my AI usage policy, published recently: https://foosel.net/ai/

Went #bouldering again this morning and made some progress on the pictured route. Sadly my vertigo triggered and got a bit into the way of the second half of the session, but all in all once again a case of: I went & I did my best 💪

Went #bouldering again this morning! Not in my best shape: had a lot of trouble holding on to stuff I usually have no issues with, and also my fear of heights had a (hopefully temporary) comeback. But despite this frustration, the important thing is that I went and did what I could, and for the first time in weeks without being dizzy AF!

I consider writing software a kind of craftsmanship. It's important to me to think through what I build, to consciously make design decisions based on knowledge and the existing problem space. To understand why things work (or not!) and be able to solve problems as they come up. To keep things readable, understandable, maintainable. In the end, I want to be proud of what *I* build.

First day wearing this new shirt that arrived yesterday. Saw it scrolling by on mastodon a few days ago and had to get one for myself. Can't find the toot anymore, but here's the shop link: https://www.teepublic.com/t-shirt/70096211-stop-forcing-ai-into-fucking-everything-original *edit* it was this toot! https://wandering.shop/@maco/116075925593898835
