They showed off how you can use other fedi platforms (e.g. Mastodon) to interact with small ads and talk to the seller via direct messages. To make it easier for you to keep track of them, we now also publish them as iCalendar feed that you can subscribe to in your calendar app. Check it out at https://fediforum.org/events And let us know if there are issues, because it's all new and the behaviors for various calendars and browsers on various operating systems are apparently all different. #FediFo...

RE: https://mastodon.social/@Mastodon/116697945683857980 FediForum is one of the supporters of the European Social Stack declaration that was published today. in the cooperative spirit of FediForum, we are glad that so many -- often competing -- organizations are coming together to the common cause of advancing better forms of social media in Europe. Kudos to many to make this happen, but particularly to @michael and @bjoernsta who spearheaded it.

Social media is in a crisis. The data is accumulating. Here is one: https://blog.incogni.com/digital-fatigue-and-burnout/ We need better forms of interacting online than what the big platforms give us. And group chat is certainly not the final answer. Anybody working on this? Yes! And you can meet some of us at #FediForum! 1/3

People sometimes think one has to be a techie to come to FediForum. Absolutely not! All you need to do is care about better forms of interacting online than what the big commercial, centralized and unaccountable social platforms give us. Because the cause needs everybody. Not just geeks.
