@miek@mastodon.cloud any particular caveats with hardware? I am very tempted to get a mac mini for this exact reason and would definitely not want to run MacOS anymore.

Story for MinIO is a cautionary tale, and by now we all know this is not the first nor the last time. But I also don’t agree with considering dependency on open source software as a risk. We should just be cautious about VC backed companies behind freemium software.

That, right there, is what you are getting wrong. The number of CVEs should not be a metric.
