  There was a time when Stream had some traction all because someone with a following said they liked it and it was featured by Apple not long after that. Now it’s scraping the bottom of the barrel. It is fine. It’s a very minimum app, intentionally and because of time constraints, but I will keep plugging away on it as time permits. Maybe one day it will be feature rich enough for people to enjoy. Until then I’ll keep hammering away at it.

  I was very tempted to ask Claude to do some code for me today. I feel like what I want for a 1.0 release is very close and want to get it out the door. Mainly so I feel like I can sit back and think about the Mac and iOS versions together and get some Mac features over to iOS. I also need to do some parsing of web pages since folks often don’t do full text in their RSS feed. I hate that but it must be done.

  @gedeonm@mastodon.social Y'all are so small I'm really surprised a bigger software company hasn't approached you about acquiring you. Great designers and developers, along with a talented supporting crew. It would make for a great acquihire if nothing else. Apple needs to get their act together and give you a bunch of money to go to work for them as a collective. 🤣 Adobe would also be a good fit for y’all, in my opinion, and they have a shop there in North Carolina.

  Well, I've managed to fix one thing in Stream for Mac this morning, but my physically tired and sore old body isn't helping with staying focused. When I was a kid I never understood why old people couldn't do stuff. Now I know why and I really don't like it. The sad thing is, it's my fault. I'm obese and don't exercise. If I dropped dead tomorrow I don't think anyone would be surprised. Not that I wan to drop dead, but there you go. 🤣

  @isaiah@mastodon.social @marcpalmer@iosdev.space At work I’ve been using TypeScript and React Native and the apps are pretty darned good. Microsoft even did React Native for Windows, so you could probably get pretty far with it. The Native in React Native means native platform controls. So you get UIKit Buttons, Views, TableViews, etc. The resulting apps are quite good.

I wouldn't intentionally go back to pure Objective-C but I'm certainly not going to rewrite existing code that's been debugged and is working. It can just keep working and I'll add new stuff on top of it. Stream is all Swift -- except for a couple third-party things -- and Thunder Chicken will be all Swift as well. Thunder Chicken will be my first use of all SwiftUI and Strict Concurrency.
