Can't seem to run basic #vulkan commands through #wgpu on #Android emulator (macOS) with a system image with API 36.1 or later. System image with API level 36.0 or earlier seems to work well. Did a lil bug report https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/532199257 and a proof-of-concept implementation with kotlin/android/rust/wgpu: https://github.com/bes/android-emulator-vulkan-crash if you feel like smashing +1 on the google issue tracker then don't be a stranger (if you are also h...

Found these old #swedish #nintendo magazines while searching for some old Tintin albums. A powerful wave of nostalgia washed over me.

"The average developer uses $2000 dollars in tokens per day" factoid actualy just statistical error. average developer spends $0 on tokens per day. Tokens Jarred, who lives in a man-cave & uses over 10B tokens each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted.

I've forked! A library! I forked the #rust crate async-stomp and out the other end came stomp-agnostic, a crate that lets you have STOMP over any transport you implement. Other crates I surveyed all either tie you to a specific transport (mostly TCP) or a specific async runtime (Tokio or Actix). stomp-agnostic lets you pick your own async runtime and lets you (easily, in my opinion) implement any protocol for transport that you need. In my own projects I have implemented both the serve...

Most of my programming idols have turned out to just be normal people over the years, with flaws that are off-putting to me now. They definitely lived "... long enough to become the villain".

"I made a..." *slap* you didn't make SHIT, you pressed the big ol button with "generate" on it and called it yours. I too can put bread and water in a blender and press the button until slop comes out. The only thing you did was to make a shitty billionaire slightly more powerful for every press of the button.

I wanted a #stomp implementation that was transport agnostic, but all I could find was a bunch of crates that used one or a few modes of transport (tcp, websockets, etc.) and most were tied to some other large ecosystem like tokio. So I forked async-stomp, tore out the transport stuff, and put in a silly little trait that you can implement to get STOMP without a lot of baggage https://crates.io/crates/stomp-agnostic

@bcantrill Listened to your talk at Jane Street on Andreesen's Folly, and you said you wanted to find Thunberg's paper. So I was interested in that as well, and found this: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/305700685_Co-localized_sensations_resulting_from_simultaneous_cold_and_warm_stimulation_Fornimmelserne_vid_till_samma_stalle_lokaliserad_samtidigt_pagaende_kold-och_varmeretning?channel=doi&linkId=579a5e2a08ae2e0b31b15295&showFulltext=true Maybe you alre...

I am looking to hire a computer science student for a part-time role at Spiideo, about 10 hours a week: iOS development in #Swift and #Rust. Fixing bugs, modernizing an existing app. https://www.spiideo.com/ #Sweden #Malmö #Lund area. #FediHire (will only be able to hire in Sweden, sorry) Office is in Malmö. Remote work is OK most of the time if you prefer that. We also accept Master's Thesis applications, but we only have the capacity for a handful each year.
