Well, that’s a first! I woke up when Kathy was getting ready for work, stayed in bed, and went back to sleep until after nine! I’ve only been getting 4-5 hours of sleep each night over the past few days, so it was needed. From tomorrow, I can go back to a regular bedtime.

I had a lie-in this morning after waking up very early. I did go back to sleep until seven. Coffee now, and a bit of gardening too.

I don’t bother with regular supermarkets, but a little later this morning I’m going to take a trip to Costco and stock up on some meat and fish. I should be there and back within the hour. I get in, get what I want and go. I’m a reluctant shopper at the best of times!

My back garden faces south west. I shall go and sit in the sunshine this afternoon and enjoy a cool beer and the glorious weather.

Easy Like Sunday Morning. I work some Sundays, which sucks, but not today. I’ve burn awake some time, but I’ve been reading and drinking coffee.

Back to the salt mine tomorrow. It’s been a pleasant break. My wife is working today, and I’m having a quiet day indoors by myself. She’s going out with a friend after work, so I don’t need to make dinner.

I got some watering done early, as it’s the best time to do it, and also it’s a job done. Alternatively, watering late in the evening is second best. Here are some strawberries with one of our rose bushes, and grow bags containing four different varieties of potatoes.

I got in from work at 2.15 pm. I watered the garden, made a lamb stew from scratch, cleaned the kitchen, put all the rubbish out for the dustmen tomorrow, took a shower, and paid some bills. THEN I opened a beer and sat down. It was 3.25 pm. You can get a lot done when you put your mind to it.

Was awake at six. Went out with my wife. She went to work. I went to hospital for a blood test. Then a bus to a coffee shop. Priorities! Then another bus to Costco. Waiting outside for them to open at 10:00.

Well half an hour and £260 later, Costco shopping is done. Waiting for Uber now, as too much to get on bus!

When I got home, it took me much longer to sort the meat into portions for the two of us. Still, we have enough meat for 44 days. I also got yoghurt and cheese. I do prefer cheese from the cheesemongers, but the Costco stuff is better than regular supermarket stuff, and good enough for my sandwiches for work. Now, I think I might have a stroll to the pub for a couple of pints. I need to check when Amazon is arriving first, though. It’s Subscribe & Save Delivery Day.

There’s always talk about Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube Music and so on, but does anyone use MixCloud? I find some cool stuff in there.

It’s 6.30 pm. My wife is home late from work yet again because they take the piss. Anyway, once she gets home, it’ll be time to eat, then time for bed, as I have a 3.45 am alarm.

My wife has a day off today. I was working, and up at 4 am. She messaged to say that she had been in the garden and mowed the lawn. I had said I would get her to help me with it when I got home. I usually mow, and she rakes up. I’m not complaining, though!

I remember writing the date in my school book: 6/6/66. There’s been a lot of water under the bridge in those sixty years!
