I've been banging on about this for years on Bird Site, but I feel like everyone here already knows that climate impacts aside, gas cooking is properly bad for your health https://www.climatecoloredgoggles.com/p/electric-stoves-asthma

Junior Football Chat: My junior boys were *excellent* this morning. Played a good team who dusted us last year. We've got a bunch of new players and are very much still coming together as a team, so the defence has been a bit of a mess. I asked them to defend first this week, then we build out from strength, and they did perfectly. clean sheet after letting in 6 last week. Just need a bit of finishing finesse and we would have smashed them. 0-0 on the day, away from home.

I don't watch many movies but I watched Ender's Game last night and thought it was good. Hadn't read it before. Some interesting ideas I reckon I'll comfort watch Fellowship of the Ring today

Interesting thing last night, travelling for work I googled the nearest pizza with the highest rating and went there for dinner. In the restaurant were 4 other business travellers who seems to have done the same thing

Junior football chat: daughter started playing this year, and she's in a team that I'm not coaching. The other coach does things differently to me. I'm finding it challenging. The girls have been winning games comfortably in Div 2 U12. We got informed that the association would watch our game Saturday and decide if we should go up. Old mate tried everything he could to win that game, putting stress on the girls and leaving the worst players on the bench as long as possibl...

My lovely little Charity Insight of Dreams is hosting a track day at Eastern Creek this sunday. A few tickets are left https://insightofdreams.org.au/blind-speed-track-day/ This is an event designed to let blind and vision impaired people do something that is almost impossible anywhere else. There's a guy coming Sunday who has been racing carts since 6, but has developed neuromuscular disease at 18 and has maybe 3 months of driving left in him. He's doing hot laps at Eastern Cree...

KPIs are a double edged sword. Sometimes they're insane and soul crushing. Other times the KPIs you are given are embarrassingly easy to achieve, but everyone thinks you're actually working incredibly hard on something impossible, and KPIs become a lovely shield to hide behind and do your own thing.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@fesshole/116497180884995645 Slightly related: when I was 18 a mate got hold of a vintage dual microphone tape recorder. We got pissed one night with it and spent a few hours recording burps in glorious stereo. Like 15 second burps that pan left and right 10 times. The tape was lost for years! Until one morning I'm driving back from the airport and put in a random tape from Dad's car. As I arrived at the M4 toll gates (when they had people!) the tape...

Airlines are basically criminal organisations IMO. Looking at prices, $800 each. Accidentally refreshed and they went up to $1100.

How about we take all the money we were going to spend on security for that dickhead PM that's visiting, put 30% to a State Funeral for a Good Man and the rest on the bar at the Lark Distillery for a proper wake.
