The use of large language models by organizations does not benefit the workers who sell their skills to these organizations. When it comes down to it, organizations and companies want to see a higher volume of output. As a worker, you are simultaneously selling your skills but also working to gain further skills so you can in turn increase the value of your skill set. If you are in a knowledge-based role, the best thing you can do is to work and learn new skills. #AI #LLM #slop #aislop

I did a speed run of the Arch Linux Installation Guide today in 12 minutes. Arch exemplifies freedom, liberty, and choice. Additionally, it asks for nothing in return. You get to decide everything you want your computer to be. Watch my guide to learn the very basics of installing Arch Linux and start enjoying your computer again. https://youtu.be/6-qaS9_0ZQY #linux #foss #oss #microslop #microsoft #apple #ios #freedom #choice #arch

#askfedi #homelab #selfhosting best self hosted cloud storage that is similar to dropbox? i.e., nextcloud/ownfile/seafile. The use case is something simple for two non-techy musicians to set up so we can work on reaper audio projects over the internet. Basically I want to have a shared folder where the projects live, so it is as easy as possible to just open up a project in reaper and start recording. #boost if you know someone who has experience.

I am happy to report I have over answered enough questions from my coworkers in my new(ish) role that they no longer rely on me to answer questions that is just reading the documentation :-)

One workflow issue I have in Linux I am hoping someone can tell me a workaround: I like to use Reaper as a DAW and use ReaStream to send audio from the DAW to OBS studio. In 8 years of using Linux, I have never gotten this to work and end up using OBS audio when I am on Linux. I have a use case where I want to do some more involved mixing and it would be handy to use ReaStream. Anyone know how or an alternative? #OBS #OBSStudio #Reaper #Linux #FOSS #DAW #Software #Audio #Video #Stream
