  the four minutes before the bus arrives are the longest four minutes of the day. that's not a statement about anticipation it's just that the bus app does not account for traffic. those four minutes can easily take ten.

  work colleague very excited that copilot might let her search her emails for such things as "emails sent by person x" or "emails without responses". once again, these machines are only useful to people who don't know what their tools can already do.

  nothing about "AI" is sillier than the idea of self-improvement. this text prediction machine, which doesn't have a model of physics because it's a text prediction machine, is going to predict the designs of new computer chips and manufacturing methods, and it's going to be correct, and this will happen incrementally as it makes itself into a better text predictor. being better at producing human-like text will also produce more accurate theories of silicon physics. sure. o...
