"A typical hyperscale data centre requires between 100 and 300 megawatts of electricity. That is enough to power as many as 300,000 US homes, or a city of roughly 750,000 people based on the average household size. That is comparable to the populations of cities like Nashville in Tennessee, Charlotte in North Carolina or Edmonton in Alberta, Canada." https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2026/7/3/us-heatwave-raises-alarms-over-ai-data-centre-energy-demands

Last night I #dreamed that we tried to get takeaways from a nearby restaurant, but for each item on the menu they had a different story for why it was unavailable.

Last night I #dreamed that after working as an orderlyin as assisted living center, I decided that I liked cutting hair, and I then became a neighborhood barber.

Last night I #dreamed that my brother and father made too many jokes at the hospital checkpoint, so I was the only one left to visit her bedside.

Last night I #dreamed that because grandma and grandpa kept digging into the front yard and exploring the storm sewers, they discovered other people hiding there for unknown reasons and recovered some starter plants that looked a bit like orchids.

Just now I #dreamed that I was in charge of planning a dear friend's wedding reception. What made it weird was that the venue was a rising spiral of multiple floors with an un-railed circular well in the middle, the spiral was covered in pillows, fabrics, and small plants; also all the characters including me were cats.

Last night I #dreamed that a highway patrol man visited my family in the hospital to say how grateful he was that my family member turned the onrushing car away from him, probably saving his life.

I finally looked up the reason that Tübingen fast food is so far from city center. It is a tax on single-use rubbish! https://reasonstobecheerful.world/tubingen-germany-defied-mcdonalds-dumped-to-go-waste/

Last night I #dreamed that I was locked in conversation with a small group on the subject of healthcare. All around us people were toiling with gym equipment, but nobody in our group lifted a finger.

Last night I #dreamed that the hospital parking structure had more curving ramps and levels than a Hot Wheels car garage play set.

Last night I #dreamed that our university offices were moving to a new, themed building, and I had to discern whether the techs dressed as mermaids or the techs dressed as Elvis were the staff to help get my stuff to the right location. The orientation delivered by Hillary Clinton was a nice touch.

Last night I #dreamed that I hopped back in time to see the curious way that the skyscraper housing our family business was constructed from war surplus materials.

Why would we choose to measure just a few metabolites instead of doing a broad untargeted survey? In two words: "quantitative precision" This is the first lecture recording I have produced with my new home video setup! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYY31STDYHA #metabolomics

Last night I #dreamed that we scrimped and saved to afford a house larger than we strictly needed, but once we had moved in, we realized the the Roman general we had captured had escaped his captivity. Surely he would not make a big deal of being held hostage by us...

I really appreciated this detailed post from Nicola Zamboni on #bioinformatics for #metabolomics ! https://metabolomics.blog/2026/03/how-we-analyze-untargeted-metabolomics-data/

The #kittens feel drowsy now because they were wrestling on a certain scientist's belly in the middle of the night.
