@mason @sean No, it's not as simple as it sounds - at least because of safety aspects. You really don't want to be energizing a line that a lineman deliberately disconnected so that it could be worked on.

@jvw Depends on your subscriber count, really. If it is low then any decent MTA is fine, and you cut down on the number of moving parts needing maintenance. But you have to handle new/leaving/lost subscriptions manually. Larger subscriber bases is why Mailing List Managers came into existence. (Full disclosure: #exim dev.)
