  What's the point of using email provider like Tuta? They advertise that their emails are encrypted, but it's only when you send email to another Tuta user. When your email leaves Tuta server it's plain text anyway. Why not just use PGP? #email #tuta #pgp

  On holidays hundreds of kilometers from home? No problem, I could still play on my home PC. The screen was a bit too small, but not a big issue. The rest worked flawlessly. I connected via Tailscale to RPi at home, sent WoL to PC. Later connected to PC running Sunshine with Moonlight from phone. #gaming #tailscale #moonlight #sunshine

  Hey #cycling people! If you do rides on indoor trainer, do you use Zwift or MyWhoosh? If yes, do you care about their gamification or social features, virtual worlds and routes, or you just ride there and care just about the numbers (power, time, etc.) I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who is watching youtube or listen to some podcast and their UI is only annoying.

  @mijndert Tester Army, I found them on newest YC batch, as I was interested if there is a single non-AI company there (probably not) TBH I still don't know why would anyone pay for it when what they are doing is IMO simply running AI Agent with something like fancy "test it" system instruction.

  I stopped using Zellij and switched to base Ghostty tabs, panes and splits. So far so good, but I can't count how many times my muscle memory automatically worked and used old Zellij keybindings instead of new ones 😅 #zellij #ghostty

  Github or not Github for releasing some open source stuff? I do not really like Github for many reasons, but IMHO releasing on any other service is a bit like shooting into the void. It's a bit different when well known project leaves Github from me (no one) releasing on other service, because in the first case at least part of community and maintainers would go with the project, when in second one people would just shrug and forget. #github #gitlab #codeberg #gitea #oss #foss

I'm also stopping everything I have #selfhosted except for #pihole Fighting alone, when everyone else around me (friends, family, coworkers) doesn't care at all, doesn't make sense to me.   @skywalker2k17@nerdculture.de yep, I know that. But this is the thing - I basically was able to leave just gmail (which I was using as spam email anyway) and that's all. Which isn't degoogle at all.

  It's been around 7 years since #vim and later #neovim are my main text/code editors and to this day I don't get this micro management and/or gamification of configs. Spending hours working on it just to cut 17ms from startup time. I'm doing updates (including plugin updates) to my config very rarely, as I don't treat it as yet another project to care about but as my editor that I want to just use.

  I was reading a lot on Reddit how people shit on Claude Code that they use whole 5h usage with few prompts, but didn't really believe it, as I use it at work and was never even close to using it all. Until today. On daily basis I use Claude Sonnet 4.6 and it's ok. But I switched to Opus today to check something. I have 2 observations: 1. It's really fast, faster than Sonnet for me 2. With 2 not that complex prompts I used 30% of my 5h usage 🤣 #claude #claudecode

First tests were promising just because it was returning results for certain specific queries, where I explicitly knew what I expect it to return. But for day to day usage it misses too much, most of the times there isn't even option to suggest other results if you made a typo in your search query. So sadly, I'm back...
