The parliamentary byelection tomorrow in #gortonanddenton may well be &#39;too close to call&#39; between the three main contenders . It may well be that the result will depend on weather on polling day since it seems likely that the balance between early and &#39;on the day&#39; voting will vary between the three contending parties - certainly that is what I observed in the parliamentary constituency where I live in 2024.

I have seen my first example of polling and modelling explicitly using #ai . This was an exercise conducted by an organisation called #Bombeplatform using data from #deltapoll . It was reported in the #guardian Saturday - 7th March. It projects the #conservatives gaining one borough - Barnet - and #ReformUK gaining another - Barking and Dagenham. It does not suggest any change as far as #libdem control is concerned. Quite another story for #Greens and #labour .

The #ft has reported today that #petermandelson managed to get £ 1.5 M from the consultancy firm #globalcounsel - which he founded - through sales of shares. It has now folded in ignominy. This dwarfs the £ 75 k he got from the #ukgovernment in order for it to avoid a tribunal!
