@kev Spinning your own small fediverse backend makes perfect sense, specially given your follower count! I would love to see the progress and steps to get there.

The 3-day AI workshop is done; I'm tired of thinking about AI processes, best practices, and how to move existing projects' development processes to be agentic. I need a break.

I have updated the post with my bash script to clean up #Gitea actions. Now they have introduced a built-in way to clean this, making this bash obsolte: ๐Ÿ”— https://ricard.dev/how-to-delete-old-gitea-workflow-runs/ #Automation #Gitea #Docker

Migrated yet another #WordPress site to #Hugo in just a few hours, no features lost, same design, now statically generated from clean Markdown. Opus 5.5 did most of the heavy lifting. Good stuff. Without it, I would have needed days.

@ronaldsvilcins personal blog, none. As you demonstrated with semantic markup you get a lot nowadays โค๏ธ

@StumpyTheMutt @404mediaco I like where you are going with this ๐Ÿ˜Ž very plausible they did it on purpose just to blame it on the AI later. Or simply rushing a product to market without proper QA.

@StumpyTheMutt Ok I didn't know this one, it's good: > Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity

Another day another #WordPress security update. Boy am I happy to migrate away from it. https://wordpress.org/news/2026/10/wordpress-7-1-3-maintenance-and-security-release/

Now that my main dev site runs on Hugo. Merged my standalone code gists #Hugo site into my main site, it was quite easy with Opus 5.5. Code is clean and works great. ๐Ÿ”— https://ricard.dev/gists/

When will #Mastodon allow to share code snippets with syntax highlighting? ๐Ÿค” Lots of people sharing screenshots of pretty code, I can't copy and paste that ๐Ÿฅฒ

@ayo and here was I thinking all speech to text nowadays happened on device. I was wrong.

Trying out spec-kit for a side project, I want to create a text-based browser game. So far, the spec framework is a bit overwhelming with so many Markdown files. Moving from actual coding to reading Markdown is rather boring. Welcome to 2026, I guess. ๐Ÿ”— https://github.com/github/spec-kit

Running local models in my M4 48Gb MacBook is poop compared to cloud models (and not even talking top tier models) It sometimes just crashes. I don't mind slow agent speed, but don't crash on me on simple requests. Software development in 2026 is boring

"Cognitive Surrender" "Cognitive offloading is delegating to the AI and still owning the answer. Cognitive surrender is when the AIโ€™s output quietly becomes your output and there is nothing you feel is left to check. For software engineers the line between the two moves under your feet most days, and most of us are crossing it without noticing." ๐Ÿ”— https://addyosmani.com/blog/cognitive-surrender/ #AI
