Yes, AI is rubbish, it's official. The report finds that consumer use of AI is on the up, but it's hardly surprising when Google, Microsoft, and others don't give consumers a real choice! https://www.theregister.com/2025/10/24/bbc_probe_ai_news/

RE: https://mastodon.social/@Richr/115655758611164282 This is absolutely incredible, and the way corporations should be thinking. Not about a fast buck, but about the incalculable good that can come from technology. Also a key reason why I think the BBC is so very important not only to the UK, but to society on general, and why they need to continue.

@joeress I wonder what nukes look like with no clothes on....

@joeress I'd but heard of this unspeakable nonsense, but I found thatthe BBC covered it recently. I like the quote "Moltbook is less 'emergent AI society' and more '6,000 bots yelling into the void and repeating themselves" https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c62n410w5yno

@latenightlinux interesting view on Github Uptime pre and post AI adoption. Check it out. Could be a good chat for any of the shows, tbh. https://www.reddit.com/r/github/comments/1t65nhk/github_runtimeissues_beforeafter_microsoft/
