Remind me why #England ever thought that exfiltrating very sensitive health data to #Palantir would be a good idea? 😠 #NHS #NHSEngland #privacy #PersonalData #HealthData #GDPR https://www.theregister.com/databases/2026/05/12/nhs-england-confirms-palantir-staff-can-access-patient-data/5238712

Oh, a #starburst, but not the fruity sort… (Someone must have had an accident of galactic proportions on the bus earlier. I guess that explains why this seat was free!)

The #giraffe statues in Greenside, #Edinburgh, are once again wearing traffic-cone-like hats, as per (originally #Glasgow) tradition. They seem maybe “official decorations” rather than cones placed by the citizenry, but the swirly patterns do rather resemble the #SNP logo and the flag of #Scotland… 🤔 #CitizenCones #TrafficCones #VLC

Oh, summer #train #timetables start today, not that any GB service operators are going to tell you here (or even on Bluesky)… Bizarrely worded #NetworkRail article: “[changes] apply to the 8 train operators in public ownership”, but #ScotRail and #TfWRail are omitted from the list, and even that it is a standardised date when •all• timetables change. #GBRail, integrated much? 🤷♂️🙃 https://www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/news/rail-timetable-changes-this-sunday-deliver-more-seats-new-overnight-...

This sounds like a potentially useful survey and discussion to be had about #community life/cohesion (or where/how it sadly lacks) in the #UK (and it does mean every country in the UK, not just #England forgetting that the rest of us also exist). #Scotland #Wales #NorthernIreland #society #communities “The National Conversation launched today. This a UK wide listening exercise focused on people’s experiences of community life.” https://www.thenationalconversation.org.uk

This #RejoinEU petition now has over 90,000 signatures, close to the trigger for a #UKParl debate. With (slightly) more positive noises from #UKGov recently, this is hopefully worth signing, to show the continuing growing recognition that #BrexitBreaksBritain and that we want to fix it! Please sign (and share/repost the details)! https://mas.to/@mikegalsworthy/116620111507827984

Is it just me or do #Debian really not make it all that easy to find and download ISOs for older but still supported versions? You seem to end up in a maze of twisty web pages none of which actually point to download links (or lead to the current “stable” instead) and I only found what I needed via a web search. 🙃 (I do need oldstable because current stable has “too new” versions of some supporting packages for the current version of the specific software that I need to install.)
