RE: https://mastodon.social/@fesshole/116957223807180545 NeXTSTEP included a Webster Dictionary app as a standard utility. If a user had a picture of themselves tied to their login account, the app would display it in the definition of “gullible.” As in, “you’re so gullible, if you look up the word it’s got your picture next to it.”

RE: https://infosec.exchange/@taosecurity/116954685201262477 Great song (great album!) Also, I remember from the 50th (OMG, was that...SEVEN years ago already?) that this site was awesome: https://apolloinrealtime.org/11/ "real time" transcripts, video, photos, mission control audio, for the entire mission.

RE: https://mastodon.green/@gerrymcgovern/116867064657884202 I spent over 10 hours driving in the heavily forested mountains of West Virginia this weekend. I maybe found 3 dead bug splats on the front of my car. Years ago, it (and the windshield) would’ve been blanketed with dead bugs. They used to sell protective covers for the front and hood area, the bugs were that bad.

Took a long, scenic route to pick up my son at college. Passed a big black and white US flag sign with “No Quarter Farm” emblazoned on it.

OMG, I'm actually listening to the Cisco hold music...on hold! Not sure when I last heard this IRL. (then again, I almost never actually call anyone anymore...)

@message_in_a_bottle Remember: tin foil hats have absolutely no effect on whether the government can read your thoughts. True fact.

I had an interview last Thursday. Haven't heard anything since (not that I really expected to, but, you know, it'd be nice, and aren't all job-seekers this anxious?) I sent a note to the interviewer, thanking him for his time (totally lost track of it over a very busy weekend), and within 15 minutes, got an email to schedule the next step. Coincidence? Probably. But that doesn't make me less happy to have reached back anyway -- this process sucks on both sides o...
