Been looking into the Fediverse for a couple of years now. The TikTokification of the FB algorithm that now tracks pauses in scrolling was the final push I needed to at least set up a presence in the Fediverse. Why Ohai.social? Ohai has servers in Germany and is one of only four sites to be running the newest nightly version of Mastodon. That impressed this old techie. Running a nightly suggests an active server team. The photo is just to help assure those who know me that this is me.

College students are aware of and using large language models. At present students are most often using large language models to generate whole papers. More recently there are capabilities being built into Microsoft Word and Google Docs to provide editorial support to a writer.
