    YouTube is going to ban the #NerdReich podcast, right when Gil Durán&#39;s book is released next week. After first Twitter and then Facebook also played this game, they just don&#39;t want to hear about fascism. I have his book on pre-order, perhaps you might, too, or sign up for his newsletter?     Good #Tuesday morning everyone, it&#39;s settling in to another hot week here in Western North Carolina. Woke too early, we&#39;re planning a hike this morning but can&#39;t begin until a much later hour. Not as much rain in the forecast as we&#39;d hoped, or been forecast, as those now seem more like guidelines... #NCwx

    I&#39;m going to be annoyingly repetitive about this blossom as it&#39;s the very first one for this small crepe myrtle which we&#39;ve been growing in a pot in front of our home for 4 years. Next year I promise I will feed it more early, and perhaps it will grow a bit and put forth TWO blossom clusters! #BloomScrolling

    We sometimes take a backroad between Saluda, NC and Tryon, NC called NC 176. It&#39;s a wiggly, rather mountain road next to the North Pacolet River. In 2024 when #Helene devastated so much of Western North Carolina, a big stretch of this road was closed. It&#39;s been 2 years, and we were just in the area, and wondered what is going on with recovery.     Unsettled night, so up late. As soon as I open the front door (a glass storm door still in place) there was a *lot* of cawing. The #crows are a bit more relaxed around me, in addition to training me to feed them anytime I get up in the morning, but still won&#39;t stay while I toss the peanuts at the end of the drive.     We just had about an hour of very heavy rain, reaching 3&quot;/hour rate for a good 20 minutes. Most of the new woodland garden held up well, but MAN that was a lot of rain at once. No wonder we were under a flood watch, hoping no one at more risk than us had any problems. #NCwx #Asheville #Rain

    6AM look at the Purple Air smoke map shows that the upper midwest has improved a little as the smoke moves along the diagonal down toward DE and the east coast. The area in Oregon and WA is also drifting down towards northern California.     It seems the Feds have told our HCA-owned hospital system, Mission Health, not to talk to the press about all the problems at their hospital. I wonder who HCA contributed to?
