That's why you should migrate to #NPM v12, it prevents exactly this kind of attack: https://www.aikido.dev/blog/keyv-and-friends-compromised-in-npm-supply-chain-attack > Every package in the family received two new files, setup.mjs and Math_Symbol.js, along with a "preinstall": "node setup.mjs" entry added to each package.json. Anyone who ran npm install against an affected version would have had setup.mjs execute automatically before their install completed.

This is a really interesting summary of the work @thoughtworks has been doing to remove the source code review and enable LLMs to consistently produce high quality results: they built a review agent that codified the recurring PR feedback: mine the last 1,000 review comments, cluster them, turn the repeat offenders into invariants the agent enforces. https://thenewstack.io/move-code-review-upstream/ #aiSlop #softwareCraft #postCode

This long transcript of a speech by @pluralistic is worth reading. He talks about the #enshittification of work though AI and explains that the wet dream bosses are having about it means turning us into reverse centaurs: an all powerful machine riding a tiring meak human towards exhaustion. https://doctorow.medium.com/https-pluralistic-net-2025-12-05-pop-that-bubble-u-washington-8b6b75abc28e A shorter video with a similar context is here: https://youtu.be/r03DPWGIxfY?is=MjR-NtbITdLaS40I #aislop

#NPM 12, released on 8 July 2026, ends arbitrary code execution from your dependencies at install time as a default. I consider it the most important thing to happen to the npm CLI in years. It does not make your dependencies trustworthy. It just stops them from running before you have decided whether they are. https://coderbyheart.com/npm-v12-stops-running-your-dependencies-code #NodeJS

No matter how smart you think you are, an LLM is always stupider. It's a dangerous, powerful unpredictable tool that will out-dumb your harness. "TL;DR: Noma Labs discovered a critical prompt injection vulnerability within GitHub’s new Agentic Workflows, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to silently pull data from private repositories by posting a crafted GitHub Issue in a public repository belonging to the same organization as the private repositories." #aislop https://noma.sec...

I'm sure™️ we're just holding it wrong: #AI promised supreme productivity, but it’s actually straining workloads for employees—time spent emailing has doubled, and focused work sessions fell by 9% https://fortune.com/2026/03/13/ai-isnt-reducing-workloads-its-straining-employees-time-spent-emailing-doubled-deep-focus-work-fell/

No, this is not me how I feel when I deal with a legacy codebase without tests, but showing what we find in the water in and around Oslo. Trash from the last 100 years. Journalen came to visit us last Sunday and wrote a great article about our work at Fjord CleanUP: https://journalen.oslomet.no/nb/innenriks/2026/04/dykker-etter-soppel-foler-vi-rydder-lordagens-festing There is also a 3 minute podcast about it: https://soundcloud.com/radio-oslomet-514628695/rydder-akerselva-det-er-litt #oslo

So, #Trello is changing their pricing plans and limits the number of collaborators in the free plan to 10. This will impact @codefreeze, where we have been using it for the last years, with 80+ collaborators this year. https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/workspace-user-limit/ We are looking into options, like using Deck from Nextcloud, GitHub projects, or https://github.com/wekan/wekan (which is made in #Finland)... Do you have any alternatives that you like?
