To do @Codeberg@social.anoxinon.de a favor and increase forge freedom and flexibility, we've created a CLI tool to batch migrate repositories between forges. This way, all the people who want to (or have to) migrate off from #codeberg can do so in a much faster pace, freeing up more space at Codeberg for valuable non-LLM related projects. The CLI tool is also advertised in our migration UI view. https://codefloe.com/codefloe/forgejo-batch-migrate

Now that #codeberg has manifested their anti-AI view with a 70% in favor vote (https://codeberg.org/Codeberg/org/pulls/1253), we're happy to welcome (once again) all the people which have to/want to move their repositories off Codeberg but still want to stay on a Forgejo-based instance. Bonus: on top you'll get better uptime, faster site responses and faster CI runners - all for free :) tl;dr: after this ToU change, keeping AI-generated code on Codeberg would violate these and reposit...

We have fixed some recent issues with our Pages integration. You should now be able to easily configure a static website again right from your repo settings! Including custom domain configuration and a super fast proxy backend. Private and GDPR compliant, thanks to statichost.eu! Give it a try, especially when you're searching for a new home for your #github pages site! #GiveUpGitHub #forgejo

In the last hour, we got hammered by an Asian bot farm which used a very recent Chrome UA and thousands of unique IPs issueing around ~500 req/min for arbitrary repo (and request) paths. This first caused a very high CPU pressure on the server running Forgejo and subsequently also a spike in memory, ultimately making the instance unresponsive. If you ever wondered how this looks like on the metrics side, we've attached some screenshots here. We've added a subnet-based rate-lim...
