  Louis Fitzgerald Group is promoting a "Heritage Pub Trail" in Dublin, consisting entirely of their own venues; one of which is barely 3 years old. And is damn close to being the worst pub I've ever been in at that.

  The new Maldron by Croke Park hasn't got it's bar licence yet. But they were very direct about why they couldn't serve me, rather than making stuff up. I'll return in a few weeks.

  None of my local pubs were showing the Man United/Brighton match today, so I ended up getting a day pass to Sky Sports on Now. Significantly cheaper all-in to watch at home with beer from the shop at the end of the road. The one simple trick publicans don't want you to know about!

  One of the most depressing things it is possible to do is read the top comments on Youtube on any 90s/00s trance track. So many tales of lost partners or parents or other loved ones that were fans of a specific song.
