For those observing August 04, 2026 (the date setting of "There Will Come Soft Rains", written by Ray Bradbury in 1950, inspired by a poem of the same name by Sara Teasdale in 1918) here is a short cartoon from 1984 based on the Bradbury story. It's in Russian and works with translation but you probably don't need it. If you are not already familiar with the story, a warning that it is very dark/bleak. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quyaaszg6jc or https://fediserve.de/pr...

Hello people in France! I am currently traveling through here this week with @mfeilner on a FOSS and Fediverse tour type thing and we are looking to meet people on our trip. So ping us if you want to hang out! #fediverse #france #freesoftware #opensource

There were a lot of these stickers at the start of the trip, and now there are a lot less of them. If you want one or a full set (each one has a different surprise) you need to get yourself over to the @grommunio booth at building 12 at #glt26 #glt2026 #grommunio

@spockrocket that is very cool! They are really neat. @twizzt

A bit earlier than I expected and I didn't catch it in time (aphid, greenfly type). The droseras were showing damage in the new growth so all of the kitchen window carnivores got a trim, a bath (distilled water and a bit of castille soap), and a new potting arrangement. I haven't had to do a soak like this in about three years and they will look worse before they look better. Survivors will get treats! #CarnivorousPlants #gardening #plants #mosstodon #SavageGarden #florespondenc...

Question for #bugstodon and sorry I don't have better pics, but can anyone tell if this is a centipede, millipede or other? It overwintered in a Sarracenia pitcher plant in the greenhouse. Edit- @mfeilner and @twizzt ID'd it as a centipede. Thank you!

@hobbs thanks! I'm looking at the list right now. @mhoye

@hobbs it's working with my Garmin Venu 3 so far and I can access the features I use like enabling and disabling specific sensors and the reporting looks pretty clean interface-wise (it should populate over the next day). I used Gadgetbridge a few years ago also (with AsteroidOS) and it seems to have grown out a lot since then. Thanks! @mhoye

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a new role (20hr/w) in developer/community relations, accessibility, fediverse and opensource strategy. I have 30+ years experience in F/OSS, in various domains (SW/HW/...). and a good handle on how things work together, across teams and projects. I am located in Regensburg, DE but have been and prefer working remotely (Europe is best due to timezones). @seachanger@alaskan.social it feels weird "favoriting" this post as I just did because it's not a position you or anyone should be in, but I just want to say that I appreciate the effort and the risk you are taking to push back. Thank you.
