The confusing thing about #pixelfed for me is that the shots where I am unsure whether to even post them tend to get a lot more attention than the shots I personally really like. There is no accounting for taste, I guess.

Hearing about some servers going under lately, here is your friendly reminder to back up your accounts. You can usually find it in settings - export somewhere. Doing regular backups will let you recreate at least some to most of your account elsewhere if something should happen to your instance. Make sure you got your following and follower lists saved somewhere. #newhere #feditips

#Pixelfed 🧵, adding thoughts as I go along mostly about features I would love to see. I would love to see the posts in trending and discover as regular feed that doesn&#39;t crop and let&#39;s you love pics without clicking through, especially in the apps. And a federated feed of only Pixelfed servers. I love the Mastodon federation, but on the feeds it brings a lot of screenshots and headlines that I do not need on there. Oh, and longer scroll. So many pics to love, such a short feed.

@OkayKay@beige.party @beverly_gardner The main difference: There are no ads and no influencers. I actually find pictures of people in general appear much more rarely than landscapes, nature, cityscapes, reflections... You can prbly compare it to a very very early Instagram before it was bought by Facebook and when it was just folks enthusiastic about taking and sharing pictures.
