Even assuming that clanker-based code review has an acceptable false positive rate (citation needed on that one), the UX is just absolutely horrible. I can run the relevant linters locally, and immediately fix the issue or add a //nolint:whatever , while for llms there is no nolint tag, and i have to send a v1, wait for it to take it's sweet time to review, and then send a v2, while annoying everyone. Even if i hypothetically would scrape every single prompt they use and run the same mod...

Why is everyone so constantly angry at my claims that an orphan crushing machine has legitimate uses, i just want to make mango smoothies with it.

RE: https://social.treehouse.systems/@AsahiLinux/116719749555082847 Turns out APFS has an undocumented "VolBootable" flag that we were never setting since, well, it is undocumented, and the boot picker never cared about it (it read it and printed it's state to system log, just did not take any action). Anyway, fix PR-ed to asahi-installer, old installs will have an installer option to set the flag. But still, probably hold off on installing macos betas :P.

PSA: If you need a rust implementation of fletcher, do not use the fletcher crate, they implement something similar-ish, but produce different results. (The issue pointing it out was closed with "eh, close enough")

while the llms can sometimes guess what you want the first time, when they don't, it is always a case of having to explain what you want to it in excruciating detail, and english is not exactly information-dense. i wonder if someone had an idea of creating commonly-useful prompt templates that you can just invoke by name. could even make them configurable, with the template having some shorthand way of specifying the changes you want, say something like `mk_api_endpoint $name=healthcheck...

i may have a list of people whom i consider to be probably the best engineers in the world. but if one of them makes a claim to be "the best engineer" themselves, that is a very quick way to get yanked from said list.

i know it is pretty rich considering the systems i daily-drive, but nix seems to be precisely made for people that find normal linux administration insufficiently exciting.

Being asked by someone to serve as a test technician for whatever their llm generated and "report the results" is not something i'd expected to happen to me, but not surprising. (The output will not even run, ofc, but i am not exactly interested in helping them at this point.)
