  Please can marketing stop publishing product tabular data as an image. it not mobile friendly. Yes there is a historic no-tables-edict, but that was for layout not tabular data.

  #language #engrish Do you use "automation" as a regular english noun (pluralising with an 's'), or as an uncountable noun (like "water" is)? Or only use it as a verb, and skip this.

  Yesterday i managed to simulate a fork() bomb on my self in bash, so I rebooted. I know have UEFI updates from "unknown vendor".   An idle sketch I wrote earlier #BadIdea: Does anyone know who the legal person for "lord #binface" is? Wouldn't it be fun if no one knew, like superman. A quick custom change, having gotten into the building as a normal person with normal ID cards. "lord binface" just appears in the right time and right place.   #Healthcare when people who were teens or tweens in the 1980s will be different from earlier.people. "Do some exercise you desk-jockey" became a thing in early European gyms, So this batch of elderly people will know "how do I tense my back muscle up?" as they *did exercise* when younger. My dad being a 1970's tween, doesn't know this consciously.

  To people that routinely use #CMS, isn't there a feature (by about 1999), where if you delete a page, or make it not visible , it checks the rest of the site for links to that page, and removes them? URLS ending ASPX aren't static. isn't the point of a CMS to automate dull and time consuming work?

  I'm always confused how the US confuses "stats" and "insight". Classic WWII example (when stats was still a hand-work activity): stats: returning planes with damage tend to have holes in these areas, X, Y, Z insight: ....the planes that came back...you overlooked he 20% missing planes

  .... I, ... am very curious to know the process by which VScode translates "<del>Std<down>" into "stupid". Note lower case 'S'. This codebase only uses the token "stupid" in one comment, not related to current typing. if [MSFT owned] VScode is reading my *chat* service logs, they are breaking a lot of expectations. MSword has much better guess algorithms, and I think is owned by MSFT.

  [In the UK] Why are supermarket vendors printing "not in EU" labels on goods in EN? Surely it should be printed in FR or DE (etc). Maybe an 'EU' in a slashed circle, and avoid the prose... So the EU Burgers know they can buy or not (I have no umlaut).

  Modern linux: I installed a text editor (via snap) It complains it can't do stuff in the firmware and doesn't finish loading. ... sorry what? This isn't ms-DOS. Why would a user-land text editor need to do anything to the firmware?

  Thought experiment. not #realistic. In say 2015, various high-motivation low-tech skills people thought it wold be cool to own a Facebook (as it was then) or Linkedin clone. They periodically asked on various platforms how to achieve this. Those people now have a openAI account, but for an accurate clone, this still not achievable. Both FB and LI as artefacts are too large to fit in a LLM token count. Even with a mystic design and functional spec (from..?) this is still too large.

  information space whine. I just saw a video by an articulate, educated Doctorate who used processes used to make clear arguments inside education and academia. The speaker was talking in something at least /near/ their own subject, and had spent several months to organise the data. Her output was video, so she needed to explain every smaller point or tangent inside "the main text". Hyperlinks are *your* widely available and widely supported superpower, use them wisely.

  to node admin: I have an email saying I logged in with a new IP. I did recently, but that would be a new LAN IP. Do you know my actual machine LAN IP, or is this a crack?
