  This week on #ProFed: the web client now has RSS feeds. Not everywhere yet – authenticated feeds are a harder problem. Every approach I've considered so far is either tooc unsafe, too complicated for regular users, or not supported by most RSS readers. Ideas very welcome. Are you maybe aware, how other applications do that? Are there any other applications at all, that do that?

  This week on #ProFed: I fixed the bug in the message bus. Finding the bug was less of a problem. But the solution, that meets all the requirements at this foundational level, was the real challenge. As a bonus, the message bus is now slightly more efficient and uses fewer resources in most situations.   This week on #ProFed: federation works in both directions. 🎉 My ProFed account can follow my #Mastodon account, and vice versa. Unfollow works in both directions as well.   This week on #ProFed: federation is working – in one direction. I can follow the ProFed test account from my #Mastodon account. The Follow request is accepted, the Accept is sent back, and the account shows up in the following list on Mastodon.   #ProFed has a logo now – and a running test installation. I've imported a profile using the Profile Importer, which reads an existing website using h-resume #microformat tags. The imported account is already visible in #Mastodon. Follow and FollowUndo activities can already be received, though it doesn't mean anything yet. The plumbing is there.
