  @matt Ever the quest to get Sysadmins to disable this on the Group Policy level, or uncheck "Microsoft Print to PDF" in OptionalFeatures.exe. Print to PDF is the "road to hell" through good intentions in its purest form.

  @blindndangerous in my experience, Claude is far more creative for generating specifications. Codex is faster, better at copy, and more persistent. I prefer Claude's UI thanks to open in notepad and remote control handoff to my phone, but after using Codex for a few weeks it feels extremely bulky for some reason. Curious to hear whether you end up switching back.

  I'm dead. This happy dev decided Claude was too expensive, figured out that you could generate code and ask basically any question using Chipotle's customer support chatbot, reverse engineered their API, and wrapped it in Opencode to stick it to corporate. It now features support for Home Depot, Sephora, Nordstrom, Lowe's, and more every day. Expect Chipotle legal to send a strongly-worded taco within 48 hours. They will probably sue us.   Many news sites are no longer being preserved in the wayback machine because major media outlets have begun blocking it. I don't usually make a point of sharing petitions, but I think this one is worth signing in an age where preserving news and information is absolutely critical.   @stevenaleach This 100%. And then you have the adds, which OK put food on the table, but most implementations seem to enjoy annoyingly sending keyboard focus all over the place. Or the related posts/videos/links smack dab in the middle of the article I happen to be reading. None of these encourage content consumption. I too feel like I am missing something when 150KB turns into 2MB turns into 4.

  @Jage Uhh yeah, definitely not supposed to be happening. Let me take a look and see what's going on there. Great to hear that you're finding it useful! This is a problem that has plagued me for a while now. I never realized how many of the sites I (and other BVI folks for that matter) create without paying attention to the color schemes we're using.

  @Jage Found it! Rounding error, literally and figuratively. that text is right at the threshold, so the float was getting rounded up past 1 decimal place in the formatter. The fix is on main and the test page, I'll get a new version pushed out tomorrow. Excellent find!

  @stevenaleach Probably tech debt from all the third-party ads, analytics, engagement telemetry, tracking, fonts, scripts, and media (both the stuff you care about and the stuff you don't). where third party CDNs are not used, they probably more than break even on bandwidth by selling your data and/or optimizing their campaigns based on metrics provided by these widgets. Given a tradeoff between UX versus monetization and feature complexity, the latter seems to always win.

  @stevenaleach Oh man, now you've got me wondering how much smaller my bookmark archive would be if not for these... Features, I guess? I mean 2MB doesn't sound like a lot, until you have hundreds of articles that you want to preserve. As an aside, I just tried loading a HuffPost article into archive.is and saw over 500 different requests before I gave up and closed the window. This has got to be one of the worst offenders for sure.

  @nolan @zersiax I'd love to see a prototype or a recording. I recall you talking about this project in various forms throughout the years, super cool to see it finally take off. The more mapping solutions that exist the better.

  this thread is gold. Everything I ever wanted to know about the Franklin language master, plus a bunch I never I knew I would. Who knew this little thing had so many little easter eggs? I'm tempted to pick one up online for the sake of nostalgic preservation and experimentation.

  @alexhall Nevermind the last hour, the past two keynotes. They know they're behind relative to other big tech companies with a similar market cap, so they're trying to dispell that impression by reinventing well-known concepts. I've always loved my Apple products, but I'm sincerely hoping that these new features are less of a disappointment than what we've seen in the past few versions.

  @Estrella Are you looking for text? Videos/lectures? Interactive courses with automatically graded questionnaires? I recognize that reading through a textbook and comparing your own answers to a key may not be the most intuitive option. However, learning style can make or break this sort of thing.
