I've just received my Price Increase email from #Hetzner. Shocking. I don't understand why existing contracts are increasing. It's not like it is costing them more to keep me on the same kit, with the same config. They're not renewing or upgrading any of it. I have 3 VPSs, increasing by 33%, 31% and 35% I guess I need to shop around now :-(

Apologies for the downtime on ibe.social -- around 55 minutes. There was an urgent security fix to be applied to all Sharkey servers. As soon as it was released tonight, 10:40pm, I closed down and completed a full backup, then applied the update. Normal service resumed 11:35pm We are now on the latest version -- 2025.4.6. There should be no changes to the user experience. This is all back-end security updates. #Sharkey

mastodon.social and mastodon.online appear to be no longer showing their Local and Federated timelines. Even for logged in users. I wonder what that is all about? A bug, or a conscious decision? How are people supposed to find new content if they can't browse a timeline of other people's posts? #mastodon

[SOLVED] 👍 Hi #mastoAdmins I'm trying to help a friend out with his Mastodon instance. An upgrade went badly wrong and mastodon would not restart. We've rebuilt the server using backups and the server is up and running. It is federating. However no one can login. hi #MastoAdmins, Is there any way to limit the size of files you receive from other instances? My #Mastodon server often receives huge files -- 100s of MBs in size (videos). I'd rather block them. My Media Usage can get out of hand very quickly. I can see anything in the docs. I also run a #GoToSocial instance, and I can limit what I receive. It just means the user has to click a link to open the file on the remote instance. Seems a great solution. Thanks #MastodAdmin #serveradm...
