I was able to start my morning visiting with colleagues from the NOAA Corps. They were staying overnight in Sioux Falls on a one month mission flying this Twin Otter to survey the snow fields and determine Snow Water Equivalent (SWE) using equipment from the airplane. I decided I&#39;m going to maintain two Mastodon accounts. One here on Fosstodon and the other on Medium: @bryanruby@me.dm Given that the Mastodon community on Medium&#39;s server is new, I plan to be more active the next few weeks on me.dm to help set the right tone. I will continue to post my more IT geek and Free/Libre/Open-Source Software centric toots here on Fosstodon. I plan to follow everyone I do now on Medium too. Feel free to follow me here, there, or both places.

@kev Thanks for keeping informed. I thought things we&#39;re starting to get a little slow when I last check in. a DDoS explains it. Unfortunately the more success you have the less fun you get to have on the IT side of the house as security priorities increase.

@chris @docpop I&#39;m not aware of an exact summary to your question. However the Storm Prediction Center offers an archive of severe weather events reported nationally. I&#39;ve decided handling two different Mastodon accounts is too much for me. I can&#39;t set the right tone splitting up my online identity this way. I&#39;m currently working on redirecting @bryanruby via Fosstodon to @bryanruby@me.dm found on Medium. Given that I have so much interest in open source, my account may be leaving this instance but my presence will still be present with the community.
