you know that thing where Google yells at you that your storage is almost-full, but doesn't do shit to help you identify what's taking up space? (Because they want you to get frustrated and just pay $25/yr or whatever?) TIL that DaisyDisk has *excellent* tools for scanning/deleting those files:

What I hope the sideloading thing reveals is just how shit the App Store has become. Imagine a SetApp-style store, with only good apps allowed, and an all-in-one bundle price. (Meanwhile the App Store editorial tab is just endless ads for Roblox or “games for non-gamers” or whatever else.)

#Seattle has a few surveys up for public-comment on the police department's proposals to install CCTV, junk-science gunshot detection, and whatever the hell a "Real Time Crime Center" is. Go comment before the forms close at the end of the month! https://techtalk.seattle.gov/2024/02/02/public-comment-period-opening-for-the-technology-assisted-crime-prevention-pilot-technologies/

after my son died, there was a rotting stump in our yard - put my anger into digging it out by hand. Planted a cherry tree; pink was his favorite color. This week, it’s blooming.
