Spot the #bunny This Caryopteris x clandonensis got planted a few weeks ago, and is being watered regularly, so maybe it is a cool spot? Anyway, the bunny did not care that I walked right up to it and took a picture. "I'm invisible. Well, maybe I'm not invisible, but I'm not moving." #gardening

My sidewalk strip is xeriscape, but the plants are enjoying the 2.5 inches of rain. It&#39;s on a steep slope, which made it a nuisance to mow when it was grass and weeds, but now it means that even with clay soil it has adequate drainage. #gardening #ResilientGardening #xeriscape #NativePlants #SidewalkStrip

These are the plants that still need planting. Usually Mother&#39;s Day weekend is safe to plant tomatoes and basil, but this year, after a warm dry winter we got some overnight frosts in May. The tiny plants on the right are three Phacelia and three penstemons, leftover from Xeriscape Demo Garden because they are too small to go in the ground yet. The tray of mixed perennials on the left is my haul from the Spring Creek plant sale. #gardening #GrowYourOwn #nativeplants

Reading: When Franny Stands Up, by Eden Robins Just finished: A Wizard of Earthsea, the graphic novel edition, by Ursula K. Le Guin and Fred Fordham. I liked seeing what Earthsea looked like. The dragons, birds, boat, seascapes and landscapes are. really beautiful. But a lot of the pictures are really dark, especially the interior scenes. Read with good lighting. Up next: What We Are Seeking, by Cameron Reed, of course! But first The Frozen River for book group. #bookstodon #wwwwednesday

Rebuilding the #compost bins. I emptied the oldest in this set of six bins, then put it back together. The cardboard around the edges is just to keep the compost in the bin. The sticks are to keep channels open for air to get inside the compost. (Also, I had to cut down a small self-sown crabapple and I had a lot of sticks.) Then I turned the two bins behind this one into this one. They had both shrunk down a lot, so almost all their contents fit into this. #gardening
