  Over the last few days, I’ve had the feeling that the events of 1936 are being re-enacted right here in Japan. To be honest, I even think those fools who misunderstand nationalism should be sunk in the Strait of Hormuz.   A quarter of a century ago in Taiwan, women dressed in revealing clothing used to sell betel nuts, but as this was deemed socially inappropriate, it seems they are no longer seen today. Apparently, betel nuts themselves have also disappeared due to health concerns. While times have changed, it was certainly an interesting cultural phenomenon in its own right. I can’t help but wish I could see something like this in the open-world settings of modern video games.

  A while back, at a friendly match between Verblitz and the Cheetahs at Toyota Stadium, we lost by quite a margin. On the way home, a bloke who’d been having a few drinks called out to a passer-by, ‘Oi, how did the Cheetahs get on today?’, only for a woman who looked like she was with the Verblitz team to shout at him, ‘Fucking Cheetahs!!!!’ It was absolutely brilliant.

  There was quite a fuss on X about the issue of pirated content. I don’t think piracy is a good thing in itself.
