  I am 2/3 of the way through More Everything Forever, a book about the beliefs of longtermists, effective altruists, and AI hypers, and I feel stronger than perhaps ever that more people should join organized and somewhat settled religions rather than sit alone with their darkness and land in a place where they sincerely believe paving the entire universe to be the only goal worth persuing.

I've joined very few protests, but each time it has been profoundly meaningful to me - showing me how many people around me I can join up with and mutually support. Feeling just a bit closer with people I don't know is never unimportant or useless.
