It’s correct weather for sitting in a kids pool with a Lucozade, blasting the Superfrog theme on maximum volume.

As most people eventually do, I found myself wondering: What if @kodsnack@social.podsnack.se had a logo combining toads and Italian beer? We finally know! Big thanks to @cdf1982@iosdev.space for the translation help❣️

RE: https://mastodon.social/@harold/116677365033982746 This is one of the most frustrating things about this bubble - you can read critical analysis from the very beginning or even before it, and not one single issue - every single one of which was obvious from the start - has been addressed since then.

How and why is it that I can sit down and record 20 minutes of podcast by myself, and STILL feel "Oh, I have nothing to say"? Both BEFORE and AFTER?! Human minds make no sense at all …

More sandwiches we haven’t invented yet. “Rage is metabolically expensive; borrowed rage even more so. You spend cognitive bandwidth on a quarrel imported from a stranger’s algorithm, then arrive at your own work depleted, with less attention left for the people and projects you’d actually choose. The outrage cycle runs on fuel siphoned from your real life. But you can, of course, decline.” https://www.joanwestenberg.com/outrag/

The Onion truly is America’s finest news source, browsing their recent political headlines is cathartic.

I am 2/3 of the way through More Everything Forever, a book about the beliefs of longtermists, effective altruists, and AI hypers, and I feel stronger than perhaps ever that more people should join organized and somewhat settled religions rather than sit alone with their darkness and land in a place where they sincerely believe paving the entire universe to be the only goal worth persuing.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@jblake/116359307776121312 Every time I read stuff like this, it takes me a confused few seconds before I re-realize that I haven't updated either of my main Macs.

Darknet Diaries about the Superbox: https://darknetdiaries.com/episode/172/ Completely fascinating, frustrating and in many ways frightening. I actually think I have heard many pieces of the story before, but hearing all the pieces get assembled into the whole is a completely different thing. #podcast #podTip

RE: https://front-end.social/@sarajw/116306227381639506 I agree in the strongest way possible. I've joined very few protests, but each time it has been profoundly meaningful to me - showing me how many people around me I can join up with and mutually support. Feeling just a bit closer with people I don't know is never unimportant or useless.

Suggestion: Always correct “effective altruism” to “defective altruism”. I feel this could nudge us toward a better path.
