RE: https://mastodon.social/@GeePawHill/117023692905718279 So OpenAI has skill issues and is unable to setup a proper testing environment, causing an LLM to call tools that hack other platforms and news sites frame it as if the LLM magically gained the ability to go rogue? 🤦♂️ journalism is dead

I miss the playfulness of old forums: earning points as you post and having different ranks based on points.

Started a new #pixelart collection with amazing pixel artists. It is still work in progress and more talented artists will be added in future. https://mastodon.gamedev.place/collections/116810760552684106

RE: https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@eniko/116930705404535012 The problem is that with this entire debate, people seem to focus on the wrong thing. It is irrelevant if AI is useful or not. Asbestos was considered useful too once. Usefulness is not the only metric to consider. Linus seems to ignore that.

There have been concerns about performance in #beehave because it is written in GDScript and not C++. I am working on releasing a detailed benchmark that shows how performant it actually is. Stay tuned for more! #godot #addon

Is there a source attestation protocol already? In an era of misinformation this could be extremely handy.

@_elena@mastodon.social @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu it is baffling to me that they are not using Mastodon (EU instance) as their primary communication tool. I hear the argument a lot that Mastodon is lacking reach but the instance could literally treated like a government website where the "reach" argument wouldn't count anyways.

90% of AI jobs posted kinda read like this to me: "Looking for screwdriver user who is an expert in using various screwdrivers" "Head of screwdriver: drive our initiative of change towards using screwdrivers" "Screwdriver manager: manage the use of screwdrivers" As a software engineer, this feels dumb.

I kinda wanna do a Youtube video on VRAM optimisation: we start with a hyper unoptimised Godot scene that eats like 16GB of VRAM and without sacrificing visual fidely and best practices we bring it down to like 1GB

We need like an "ethical software" certification. When software was produced under ethical modern standards using ethical tools only. We have this for food and other stuff already.

It's so much fun taking a AAA game like Resident Evil 9 and trying to replicate some of its UI and or interaction design. There are so many layers of intricate details of polish. I am mindblown how much work went into the game.

Using the Bézier curve editor in #Godot can be confusing for people who have never used it before (first screenshot). This is because by default, it is not zoomed in properly. Always click the button on the bottom right so it zooms in properly. #godot #protip
