Couple of days into work life. I don't know if it's because of everything I'm doing different but I feel non tired for once. I'm taking vitamin d and fish oil and also sleeping earlier since I'm 4 days in office. Interesting times, feels like pre COVID era of work! Haha

In other news, a new version of cosmic has been released going to version 1.1.0! Great they're continuing to mature it and havent abandoned the idea surrounding it. Its definitely an ambitious project considering its a different tech stack compared to other desktop environments #linux #cosmicdesktop

RE: https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@kaplay/116818634665027920 Cant believe this level of art and game was made by one person for a game jam no less. Built in KAPLAY! #gamedev #indiedev #kaplay

Who actually thinks all AI providers, even on enterprise arent training on your data? Are we actually naive to think they're scared of the law? #ai #llm

Are we finally getting helix IDE plugins? That's kinda wild how long its taking to decide on this. Back in the day you just do it and see where it goes 🤣 #editor #helixEditor

But also why the hell would you even consider a lisp based syntax in 2026 for a plugin system? Why do you like this in today's world, are you asking only hardcore tribes to enter the ecosystem? 🤣 #helixEditor

Tokens go zoooooom zooooom. At work I have to prove value and get shit done fast unfortunately so I lean into AI heavily I wish I wasnt so tired after work so I could scratch the writing code itch. #programming

Had the most fun game dev session last night, got a lot done. Mainly moving logic from client side to server to enable this beauty of multiplayer. Ever so slightly one step closer to the vision I want #gamedev #indiedev #mmorpg

Seems like I re-entered heavy into Java at the right time. Less verbose, cleaner APIs, faster start ups. Faster runtime. Modern GC configs. Its not perfect but damn its come a long way #java #programming

Using AI truly takes the fun out of development. Yes. I HAVE to use it at work. Unfortunately. #softwareDevelopement

Environment aesthetics in a game matter so much for me, alongside music. It has to be immersive and hook you right in enough for it to be a core memory for gamers. #gamedev

AI is literally just a glorified and albeit worse off code generator because it doesnt have complete context of your codebase, pattern, architecture, intent and best practices. Yeah sure, I can give it a natural language instructions and guardrails but its still never going to be perfect. And CEOs want to go on a firing spree because of this untested tech #AI #llm

Fediverse feels like a nice reset from bot infested, pay to spam ads and glorify rage bait, engagement bait content There is no underlying interesting with Mastodon. Only to encourage being able to decentralised and keep your data, yours. #fediverse #mastodon

Honestly, I've never quite seen an ORM and migration management as good as Django. My first company job used it and it was magical for a junior dev to learn about databases #django #python

Just played an hour of hytale, very cool to see flatpak support and support in general for linux users off the bat. Played with my wife via LAN, seamless connection too. Awesome to see more games like this #hytale #linux #gaming

When you're passion ridden and able to grow your community with like-minded individuals, it becomes a collective. Thats what I feel like with @kaplay. Response for any help is so appreciated. I have my bias as I support this project monthly now as its been a pleasant experience Open source and passion for the win ❤️ https://kaplayjs.com #opensource #gamedev

I hope qwen and deepseek get more optimized to specific use cases that it blows claude and other models out the water. The only solution left for this AI stupidity to get any better is competition for efficiency and affordability #ai #llm

Just tried out qwen3.5:9b and its pretty damn good for local llm use. Its pretty good for my personal needs which is awesome I dont want to fund big tech, so I'll run viable models that I can locally and so far its perfect for my use case (handle boring tasks) #llm #qwen

Open source and the spirit of it is getting completely ruined by AI/OpenClaw bots. The people who run these scam bots dont check the work produced. As a consequence, stricter controls will be put in place making it more challenging as a new open source contributor. How is AI "good" again? #opensource #ai

At the end of it all. I want to create something successful and sustainable while keeping my principles in place and also be able to break out of my day job. Right now thats placing hopes in game dev and my general ambition is releasing a game within 2 years. And evaluating whether it's worth continuing or not #gamedev

Seeing ashes of creation get zapped from reality after years of development. Maybe its time for game studios to know that they should maybe just humble themselves and test new ideas along the way to users as you're developing the game? Not have vanity closed/open beta and actually listen to feedback? What a waste tbh. This proves that money and "reputable" people joining doesnt equal success. The genre is at a standstill because I believe users of mmos are largely mat...
