There's still this narrative that AI "went rogue" in these hacking events where AI driven agents and tools "broke containment" and hacked third parties to achieve their goals. Let's reframe this as these AI labs, maliciously or not, used hacking tools to hack into third parties using autonomous agents. Stop deflecting the actions onto the tools. They can't do shit without inputs. Someone gave it all of the tools and information and told it to get busy.

Sam has been eating better today, but still not 100%. Yesterday, I gave her a walk around the block. The heat was enough that she prioritized cooling off over getting water and parked herself near the intake vent for my hvac for the cool breeze. So I'm going back to the no walks over 95F rule, especially as she's not super well.

I just learned Flock sells autonomous drone surveillance. It's a platform deployed by Flock, retaining ownership, which integrates with various systems, including known flawed gunshot detectors, and operates, primarily, autonomously. Call 911 and give the address? They promise to have a drone on scene within a couple of minutes. Trigger a hit on a Flock AI camera? You could be followed by a drone in minutes.

I'm in the hospital cafe while my sister is at her weekly therapy appointment in the next building over. It takes a couple of hours so I hang out here because there's no capitalist expectations here. And the wifi is actually good. Just heard a "code pink" called a little bit ago, and then an all clear a few minutes later. Confirmed that, here, that's infant abduction/missing. They lock down the hospital until the "all clear".

So you know that $35 insulin thing? Before we pushed back on insurance to figure out how I can get the coverage I was owed, this is what was sent to me. That's 3 vials. 1 month. Insulin in the US is still NOT $35/mo, $35/vial, whatever measure you want to use to place $35 on it in many cases. Probably most cases. (It's $35/mo on medicare, and maybe medicare advantage if your private insurer isn't a dick) And this is why you hear about rationing insulin in the US.

Well I just got bad news. Even though my insurance has covered my insulin once so far, upon forcing me to change pharmacies, they are now rejecting it. I need to find out if they are rejecting the 30 day supply in favor of 90 day, or if they want me to change from humalog to generic lispro. Either of those would be fine. And yeah, including the generic lispro. Look at the vial, it still says ely lilly, maker of humalog. It's the same fucking thing.

AI datacenters and power companies powering them are planning to start using eminent domain to start stealing land from homeowners. Don't believe the water problems? Don't believe the power cost issues? How about losing your fucking home? https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/artificial-intelligence/power-companies-can-seize-private-land-to-make-way-for-new-ai-data-center-transmission-lines-report-says-takeovers-could-be-implemented-using-eminent-domain-law-when-private-citizens-...

My new lamp globe shows up a day early. It's the same brand as the lamp base so it should all be good to go, but for some reason I'm still worried it's not the right fit.

I can't quote the toot that made me think about this, but it occurs to me that aphantasia is likely the number one reason I don't enjoy reading books. It's just dull words on a page. I do enjoy audiobooks though. I still can't really picture what's going on, but the storytelling can help with understanding the story elements enough to enjoy it.

Wow. So. If you own a LG computer monitor and run Windows 11, get ready for ads. And possibly malware. This is without consent. If you own a recent LG TV, you are required to choose security or privacy. If you choose security, the new terms of service require you to inform household members and guests that your TV is listening to everything. It also informs you it’s screen capturing and collecting a ton of data. Glad I ditched my old LG TV. Might have to ditch my LG soundbar.

There’s certain people I do things on various weekends with that every time I have to pry times out of them. They’re never on time either. But knowing some kind of time is still useful to me. In fact, just “Sunday” is stressful to me. Am I wrong in thinking this is just rude? I know there are plans today. That is all. Literally all I know.

Walmart near me is having new 400kW fast chargers installed. It seems this is a straight Walmart thing now, not their original EA deal. One of my first complaints about public charging is having to use an app to use them. A lot of public chargers have moved to having pay terminals available at the charger, similar to fuel pumps, making the situation far easier on EV owners. Because who wants 20 different apps just for one function? Walmart seems to think you need yet another app. From what I’v...

Alright, talked to my pharmacy benefit provider. I have 2 choices of pharmacies I can use for "maintenance medications": Costco or CVS. There is not a Costco near me, so that leaves CVS. The only other option is mail order, and since I have had issues with mail order stuff that needed to be kept cool, I would really rather avoid that. So I guess I'm transferring back to CVS.

I likely have a lot of driving to do tomorrow. Like... a lot. It's the first time since getting my car that I had to think about finding a public charger where I'm headed. And from what I can see in the plan... it looks like a complete non-issue.

I just ordered lunch to be delivered by drone. Since it's free right now. Normally I'd prefer to go get my food if I'm ordering out, but meh, let's see how this works. Yeah, Zipline is doing deliveries in my area now.

Please, don't make work life harder for already underpaid workers for your "hah gotcha" lols. They're in this shit too. You're not punishing Trump. You're not punishing Shell or Chevron or 7-11 or whatever fuel station you're at. You're not punishing MAGAts. You're punishing low wage people. For social media clicks.

So it seems Mobi firmware 7.9.1 is what brings Dexcom G7 15 day support. But it needs an app update that's not yet released. I imagine that's coming pretty quickly. I have a decent supply of G7 right now, so I might go ahead and ask my doc to switch my script over for the next fill. #Diabetes #TandemDiabetes

So as it turns out, in order to debug on an iOS 27 device, you need Xcode 27, or the debugger crashes and causes the app to just hang. So now that I have a macOS 27 device with Xcode 27, I can get back to debugging.
