PSA regarding the Mullvad VPN situation: I emailed and requested a refund and after providing details they compensated me for the days remaining in my subscription. In my reading, that’s not their refund policy and is not in their recent statement on Mastodon.

To the surprise of no one, gnome-shell in GNOME 50 has started failing to make it past login for some users, likely because at least something or other depended on the legacy X support in the DE. Source: currently trying to fix my system after the upgrade. gnome-shell coredumps on login. Next thing to try is backing up my config and fully resetting dconf.
