Oh, when Chat Pile really kicks into gear ... that's the good stuff.

@alexadeswift@lgbtqia.space I knew it. Those bastards prepared for everything.

@alexadeswift@lgbtqia.space True, we don't. But can you hold the undead guilty for crimes? That's a legal area we haven't even broached yet.

#WordWeavers 8/8—Which character would survive a zombie apocalypse, and why? Ha! This is an easy question to answer, because both of the main characters in my main series' would do so easily. Roan's a lion shifter, so he'd make very short work of any undead, even if he wasn't so horror movie literate as to know how to do that anyway. As for Josh in the Josh of the Damned series, he sells frozen burritos to zombies all the time, and they know, if they want their burrito hook up,...

The theme of this #ThursdayFiveList is #LetsGoRetro, with technology that was once big, but now seems kind of commonplace or super dated. I will admit, some of my choices may seem odd, but I stand by them. (Yes, I still have my old CD collection, why do you ask?) Guess who has a new story out finally? It's a new short with Holden, meeting a new client who, as it turns out, is actually an old client. You Were Never Here. Free or PWYW. https://aspeed.itch.io/you-were-never-here

This #MondayRandom10 isn't quite as cohesive as the last, but it has some fun songs on it, and musically it's kind of all over the map. So something for almost everyone. For today, this album is free/PWYW from Bandcamp. It's a lot of good post-rock, mostly instrumental music. Worth a listen. https://acheerywaverecords.bandcamp.com/album/a-cheery-wave-from-stranded-youngsters-vol-xiii

This #JukeboxFridayNight theme is #Waiting . Sorry if this was a grim sounding pick. Mean Mistreater - Waiting To Die. https://meanmistreater.bandcamp.com/track/waiting-to-die

Today's #ThursdayFiveList is #SeeYouPeople . Why is the Mastodon song is on here. Well, this song is very much a goodbye song - its intent is to chase you out of the theater. Since beavers seem to be a crucial component in fighting both wildfires and floods, why haven't they been immediately reintroduced into places where they've been removed? I know it's not as easy as all that, but still, get on it people.

#PennedPossibilities 1085 — What is special about your world or universe? Well, there are a couple of feline mutation viruses you can catch, and people have been known to mutate into big cats and show up in public. It ain't great. Society is learning to adjust to it, but it's not going super well, as you might have guessed. There are also oddities to it that no one understand, and you could ask Roan all about it, as he seems to be a test case for the strangest things of them all.

I feel like RFK Jr's head is hollow, like a cheap chcolate easter bunny. And I bet, if you can get him to shake his head, you can hear something rattling in there.

Oh, and in what may be a first, I actually read one of the books that ended up on the Booker Prize long list. I know, I'm surprised too.

Yes, this was my brief break from watching horror movies. Because it seems all I do lately is watch horror movies.

Watched Faster Pussycat Kill Kill tonight with Botch Party, and while it is unquestionably a bad movie, it has something over a lot of bad movies of its era, in that it is fun and absolutely rewatchable. Yes, what story there is is nonsense, and the director's fetish is obvious, but the actresses are very game and there's no fat on this film. It's over and done in a flash, and the dialogue is sharp and camp.

I've been on hold for an hour, and I've been told I have another two hours of hold to go.

There are some pretty people on this show, and they are asked to do absolute nonsense. What a great job.

Right now, there's a woman having a conversation with a large smug frog figurine. I don't know why.

Sometimes, late at night, I tune in randomly to the live Kamen Rider channel on YouTube. I never know what's going on, but within five minutes, you're treated to something straight up bananas, and I kind of love it.

By the way, Exit 8 is worth a watch. A nice, creepy little horror film that doesn't waste your time.

This #MondayRandom10 list is almost a story. It feels like several key sentences were removed, leaving only fragments. Or maybe stage directions? Just read the titles - there's some kind of story being told here, it's just elusive. Musically, we are all over the place, but enjoy some top vibes. The library was especially busy today. I found myself wondering if people suddenly realized it was free. (There didn't seem to be anything going on in any of the meeting rooms, which is always my first guess when things are busy.)

A bit of instant tiny karma. A woman at the checkstand next to me at the store was eight cents short, so I gave her a dime I had in my pocket. I mean, we've all been there. And at the gas station, I found a dime. So, instant payback.

@troberts@theblower.au May I point y ou towards a movie called The Uninvited? https://www.rifftrax.com/uninvited (Btw, you really should see it. It's a wonderfully awful Z horror movie.)

You know we occasionally feed a now three legged neighborhood cat who seems to have another owner. Well, the other day, I was outside with him, and we could hear, but not see, the neighbors talking in their driveway. Two guys, and from the way the cat reacted? Well, his owner must be a woman, because he is clearly terrified of men. Poor kitty.

It was so busy at the store today they'd ran out of carts, so I used my reusable shopping bags to hold everything I was buying. And you know what I discovered? It's a much easier way to move through a busy store. No cart to maneuver. You get everywhere faster.
