@leafn4give@mastodonapp.uk YIKES thanks for letting me know -- we are part of an ad marketplace and can say no to various categories but don&#39;t get advertiser-by-advertiser right of refusal (or even know which ones are being slotted in). stuff like this makes me think we should just not do advertising at all; as I mull that, this helps me fine-tune the settings, though, I can cross banks off as a category!

@MHowell did I miss the part where I was advocating for personal automobiles? have never done so and am well aware that more personal transit is not the way to solve the climate crisis

@sambutlerUS *totally* although that&#39;s not unique to this situation, the climate movement in general has a big problem with rallying around EVs imho.

A lot of the folks who became climate deniers started out fighting air pollution regulations, and never really left that fight. I wrote something about it for Rolling Stone, but my editor there left, took it to The Guardian and editor there left too, so it sat. Last week I realized the main guy in the story I&#39;d been working on is at the same org as the folks suddenly fighting renewables again. So many zombie arguments!
