When people are looking at my LinkedIn profile - and don't connect. Makes me a bit jittery, the worst feature on any social media site.

By me for Women's Agenda. Glad they ran this, it's turning out to be a huge problem for several people eg lost livelihoods, mental anguish and more. https://womensagenda.com.au/latest/when-simply-being-seen-becomes-political-metas-crackdown-on-australian-lgbtq-accounts/

Watching the Kylie docu again on Netflix. So much to think about. For instance, “the singing budgie”. I assumed it had come from the UK, it’s also been wrongly attributed to Clive James, but apparently it was a term first coined by a journo in Oz. Not sure if there’s a bit of Tall Poppy Syndrome in that or not.

So someone wrote one of the Substack tech bros Chris Best an open letter on the platform about how it was going downhill - and he responded by accusing him of writing it with AI. Think that's so out of order, arrogant and not what they are here for, whether it's written with AI or not. Meanwhile still zero response on Andrew Tate.

Here's some thoughts on this that I wrote the other day. Sall Grover has also now had two op-eds in The Australian in the past two weeks and this coverage is completely disproportionate to the outcome of the court ruling. Clearly they are trying to do what press in Britain have done. https://substack.com/home/post/p-199038853?selection=9caa422a-0b36-4fea-b4df-6bd929c08852

Gotta be honest, and this probably won't be a popular opinion, that while I like the new media podcasts we have in Oz and think that they're needed, I think they are too to the left now and too biased to the left. There's a reason The Rest is Politics is so popular besides the hosts.

Sad. This has also gone through nearly two years to the exact day that Uganda enacted theirs. And all has come about by other people meddling in other countries' laws. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5yedendprko

State Library of Vic has got competition. But how lucky are we that all our major state libraries are good? Trying to finish off my screenplay between doing work and then pitching and looking for more.

Substack is quite a worry at times. For instance here's a post someone put up this morning. It's completely wrong - GB News is managed by an Australian CEO (ex Sky After Dark) but it's not owned by us and the owner *is* British, and Dubai also has a stake. Yet when I commented on this to politely inform this guy, he just deleted my comment and kept the post up 😂 Yes it's not a hill to die on, but this is how disinformation spreads. You wonder what else is on there...

The gender wars (Tickle vs Giggle) are interesting because really, not to make light of the issue but to llustrate how hysterical it's been, when you look at some of the reactions from the rest of the world, people haven't actually taken such an interest in Australia since the first Crocodile Dundee movie. It was four decades ago. I mean, this is where they're up to with us. They've actually said it themselves.

Here is another one of these stories about life in Australia.
