This used to be an old worn out strip mall with a massive surface parking lot. It is now being developed into spaces for people, commercial and residential space, all alongside active infrastructure. *See post 2 for what it used to look like. 🧵

TIL that choosing a method of transportation that is more affordable, enjoyable, and safer for urban streets is an "extremist" position. RE: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:stch4h6ryvyp4pb6w2khu3wz/post/3mricjbqi422e

This is how you brain-drain a nation out of first-world existence. Thanks to the ignorant, fascist approach of the Republican party, we’ve lost more than 15,000 scientists from our federal ranks in the last two years alone. Worth watching and sharing. 👇 America’s Scientists Are Disap...

We have a local friend who moved here recently to live car-lite. She was new to the cargo bike world, but jumped in head first. She's maxing out the utility and doing it all with 3 kids. "But we have kids" isn't the barrier. It's almost always your hostile local infrastructure design.

Have the people who make statements like this ever considered that our current "cars for everything" model isn't actually working for anyone? Forced car culture destroys personal and public finances, kills ~44k/year in the US, and is the number one thing our emergency services have to respond to. Proper urban infrastructure deals out consequences to the motorists, not the people they attempt to hit with their cars. RE: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:5pghxhhzn2fcihyploqv4ijt/post/3mglhsuayi225

People have a moral panic over a cyclist making them uncomfortable, but vehicular violence gets a free pass. Motorists make the case every single day for hardening our streets and restricting their access. We have to stop accepting this threat and start controlling it. You don't have to hate cars, but you should absolutely hate forced car dependency. This latest video from NJB breaks down the true cost of motonormativity, from subsidized sprawl and noise pollution to the physical destruction of our cities. Every Reason to Hate Cars

Want to turn heads and spark curiosity in the United States? A cargo bike carrying a baby will do just that. So many smiles, pointing, and fun comments as we passed people.

Bikes strengthen community. When you actively move about your city, you keep an eye on places and people. This builds safety and connection for everyone and makes life a bit more fun in the process. You simply don't get this through car culture. Four years ago, I went online looking for an artist to do some work for me. I wanted my WorkCycles Fr8 bike painted into a picture parked in front of the WorkCycles shop in Amsterdam 🇳🇱. This was the result and I love it. 🎨 🖌️
