What are your holiday traditions? Especially interested to hear from vegans. Since our grandparents passed away, it's been hard to get into the holiday spirit. But I'd like our winter holidays to be special this year.

@bmacDonald94 @DreamForgeMag So happy to hear it! I'm working on getting more things out there. Both writing more and submitting more. Really excited about some new things coming through.

I finished The Hound of the Baskervilles, and it was soooo good. So fun to read. So magical. The escaped convict, the moor, the frightful family myth. It's been a solid month of good books. #Books for #Halloween

A few days ago I was easing into nighttime after a difficult day when I heard an owl hoo-hooing. And it changed everything. I was delighted. Every day since I've listened for it, and I feel joy just thinking about it, wondering how it's doing, wishing it the best. #nature #birds #owl #joy

RE: https://bookstodon.com/@hearthstories/115758501405590106 Happy Hearth Stories release day! I got the honor of interviewing the great @cjyeates for this issue. Looking forward to reading through everyone's interviews!

All plans come screeching to a halt with sick kids at home. So I have lots of time to do the things I've been avoiding! (Yay! Yikes!) Started off by submitting a panel proposal for WisCon (I nominated someone here as a panelist, just to keep you on your toes!). Eventually I should put out a post for awards eligibility (eek!) and finally buy my WorldCon tickets (eek!). All of this is so far out of my comfort zone.

Awards eligibility post! Because if I don't do it now, I'll lose my nerve. Thank you. I submit for your consideration two pieces published back to back in 2025, both available to read online for free. If you like soft, feel-good stories, please consider "The Back Room" published in DreamForge: https://dreamforgemagazine.com/story/the-back-room/ If you like darker, sadder stories, please consider "To Touch the Wind" published in Abyss &am...

I've discovered that being happy for my writer friends when they get published greatly increases my opportunities to celebrate publications. Feel crushed by rejection? Celebrate all acceptances, not just your own. #WritingLife #Writing #Joy

For so long I felt like I just wanted to break into the speculative writing community, and then everything would be fine. I realize now breaking wasn't the way to do it. So happy to be here now, so thankful to be here.

The #WisCon schedule is up! Come see the panel I'm moderating on disability-inclusive practices, and stay for rest of the long weekend! https://program.wiscon.net/PublicSchedule.php
