As 2025 draws to a close, it's time for a #NYE #resolution - 2026 is the year I finish #MeltdownExpected - a novel about growing up, punk rock, philosophy and the internet. #amwriting #writingcommunity

#WritersCoffeeClub 12/27. How can we as writers support one another? New to this chat, and to writing fiction. As a former teacher I would say: remember no question is a stupid question. You were all beginners once - I was literally unable to speak once upon a time 😉 - and heed the "curse of knowledge": being unable to imagine others not knowing what we know

#WritersCoffeeClub 12/29. What’s something you’d like to see future generations of writers discard? I'm new to this writing lark, but the idea of "genre" confuses me, how a book can be either "contemporary" or "romance" or "literary". My WIP is hopefully all of those, and philosophical and funny.

#WritersCoffeeClub 12.29 — How much would writing by another means (by hand, digitally, audio transcription) change your prose? I've tried dictating, it's messy, my MO is towrite, delete, rewrite while typing, eventually I might flow through a few sentences but it takes full immersion for at least an hour to get that kind of pace going, and I can't see me doing that with dictation. Don't get me started on my handwriting!

New year resolutions? Lemme dust off last year's and give them another blast. This time maybe they'll stick...
