Wollongong really does put on a pleasant show during magic hour.

Only approx. 21,000 people ahead of me in the citizenship queue. Should a quick turnaround! ๐Ÿซช Patience was never one of my strengths. Here's another bird.

We wait so many hours for this romantic serving of evening, and people will blast it all to smithereens with their most obnoxious manifestations of ennui. I prefer to stick to the quieter places of the world (i.e., where the people are few).

I wanted to catch the sunset during my evening bike ride, but missed out because I was working too late. On the bright side, I did catch some twilight action.

We're just in time for @Nickiquote@mstdn.social's belated birthday today! No owls, I'm afraid, but I did encounter this rather derpy deer and her fawn. Hope this'll do in a pinch. Now if everyone can please join in for a public and humiliating round of 'Happy birthday!" I'm elbows deep in these hearings, however, so I'm afraid I will have to love you and leave you for now. ๐Ÿ˜š

On a scale of Bird, today was somewhere between Audubon and Hitchcock.

I recently read an article on pseudolaw by Dr Hobbs after hearing his talk, and came across a reference to this mayor's response to a nutjob sovereign citizen. I looked up the actual correspondence, and it's fucking gold. I've seen plenty of brusque correspondence from mayors and the like in the course of my work, but this is by far my favourite. If it's difficult to read, the alt text might make it easier.

Just read about some of my work in a news outlet, which is extremely gratifying. Of course my name wasn't included in the article for privacy reasons, but I know it was me and that's good enough ๐Ÿ˜Š

I deleted a bunch of follow requests just now, so I should probably mention that if you haven't interacted with me and tend to use other people here as mere fodder, then don't bother sending me a request. I'll just make a paper airplane out of it and toss it over my balcony. Good morning from Wollongong, everybody.

As someone who works in a big city (when I can be bothered going to the office) and spends lunch powerwalking through the canyons of commerce, the awfulness and repetition of popular music nearly drives me to psychosis. I have great compassion for those who have to endure this at retail wages; it's a special kind of torture. I keep my sanity by reminding myself of all the beautiful and original music there is in the world. https://youtu.be/OAB4uGGquX4?si=u5Uycpc1hwyHs-TL

I'm alone in a strange home in a wooded location and it's after dark and there are strange noises outside. Obviously I'm after your horror movie recs that are available on Netflix (soz, that's all I have).๐Ÿฟ

This place is unreal. I wish I could afford to buy a place here, though even if I could the commute would be too much. But maybe this place IS otherworldly, and I actually went through some invisible portal into another realm on the ride down. Whatever it is, this is fucking outstanding.

Someone I used to know back in high school reached out to me via email a few days ago, and now she's telling me about how she found Christ.

I have the next 8 days off work, and am deciding between the Blue Mountains and Jervis Bay. BM - colder but rugged and beautiful mountain scenery and waterfalls JB - Beautiful white sand beaches, warmer, whale watching, kangaroos!! Which would you pick? Bear in mind it's winter here, but without snow. Third option: One-way ticket to the South of France

Sometimes when I encounter parrots, I think of that video clip of Iggy Pop singing "Surfin' Bird" to his pet cockatoo and I'm inspired to do the same. I haven't done it yet, but it's really only a matter of time.

If you were to purchase a one-way ticket anywhere in the world right now, where would you go? Finance isn't an issue, and Australia isn't included as I live here.

Was just on my evening walk along the Blue Mile and saw a dog with the biggest balls I've ever seen. They were easily the size of a couple of billiard balls. It forces me to question everything I know about balls, which really isn't a whole lot if I'm being honest.
