“He had never heard of the tragedy of the commons, where one sheep too many consuming more than its share of common resources destroys the whole,” Borsook wrote, “nor had he thought much about what participating in a community means.” 1/n https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2026/08/cyberselfish-paulina-borsook/

“If your bureaucracy is more concerned with fighting fraud than delivering service, then it isn't a service delivery system at all – it's a service denial system.” -Cory Doctorow AI vs AI in the bureaucratic equivalent of “Bum Fights”. https://pluralistic.net/2026/08/10/deep-state-wopr/

Machine learning has been around for several decades. The current versions are presented in a particular SAAS model. We are asked to use these dubious corrupt dice-factories like the Greeks used the Delphic oracle. But that is only one implementation of the tech. You could build a home model based only on your own work, and selected out-of-copyright sources(Shakespeare, US gov publications, etc). But that wouldn’t be as *convenient* as paying Musk/Grok, Etc $40+ bucks a month to spew slop. 1/n

“Once a model is available on your device, per the specification, any website you visit will be able to send prompts to that model without requesting permission to do so, then do whatever it wants with the responses. And again, Gemini Nano is on your device if you’re using Chrome” So you have an “AI buddy” with access to your files, ID, and credit card, and said “buddy” works for any website you browse, and Google? https://wil.to/posts/googles-prompt-api/
