  You should know: Vaxry once told me, in private, around a year or two ago, that I should not be writing software if my vision impairment prevents me from being unable to understand his code. This comment was uncalled for, since my eyes were not the reason his code was hard to understand.

  I've got ten fingers on two hands. I've got a brain. I've been writing code with these biological tools for over a decade. I WANT MY FUCKING EDITOR TO STOP FORCING LARGE LANGUAGE MODRLS ON ME. It keeps fucking up my handwritten code. Stop it. If I turn it the fuck off, KEEP IT THE FUCK OFF.

  So about #AccessibilityInOpenSource: I want to share some of my thoughts that I can't figure out how to write about in an article. Bear with me. My vision loss is unique. Not in the sense that I'm the only one who has it, but rather that the challenges I deal with might not be what you immediately think of.

  Gonna say something controversial. LLMs, if they *work well*, are great accessibility tools. They can pick useful information out of giant diagnostic logs I have trouble reading. Lots of people use LLMs to write code for them. Sometimes, the code generated is either poor quality or doesn't work. In fact, I'd argue that's the case most of the time. But if you physically cannot read or write code, despite having the skill to do so, then what are your options?

  who the fuck drove RAM prices up so high that 64 GB of non-RGB RAM costs more than my monthly rent? for fuck sake you god damned AI companies, I know it's you, I'm now pissed at you, and I don't want to spend 2 months of my salary on a home lab.
